I wonder why you take offence when none was given to you?

Oh, and I rest my case:

And the Japanese only negotiated this deal to salvage their investments --explicitly attracted by the UK leveraging its SM membership-- imperilled by Brexit. Which Japan sees as the UK welching on an agreement, and is very pissed off about. So it already sees the UK as dishonourable and unreliable. The IM bill will only serve to reinforce that view.

So why is Japan still signing the deal? To buy them time for a gradual and orderly withdrawal of these investments from the UK. Expect Japanse car factories to shut down one by one, for company branches to wind down, and money to gradually disappear.

But the government does know what it is doing. Brexit, the faltering negotiations, the IM Bill: these are only cover for their ultimate goal: kleptocracy. The main clauses in the IM Bill are enabling clauses: they enable an MP to unilaterally pass any law they want, regardless of whether it conflicts with international or domestic law, and without Parliamentary scrutiny or oversight, and without judicial challenge. It is rule by decree. Autocracy. With the ultimate goal of kleptocracy.

Not sure I ever had the impression that they knew what they were doing to start with.

Things have creeped so far rightwards politically, expressing views to the political left of Oswold Mosely will have you derided as whinging leftist.

I would agree that identity documentation is required for opening a bank account at the very least, I don't believe that showing a right to live in the UK should be checked by a bank or indeed any of the other options.

When people disagree with you then you can dismiss them by saying that they are bad lefties, when what you actually mean is that they are calling you out and you don't like it.

See also "echo chamber" to describe several people disagreeing with you.

The graph shows the irony of a people vehemently opposed to obligatory ID cards being in strong support of everyone being obliged to show ID for almost any societal transaction. Of course, "everyone" in their mind is "foreigners"; never themselves.

They know what they are doing, acting in their own self-interest, with complete disregard for anyone else and the UK as a whole. Then when it is time for the next general election, they will blame everything on Labour and try to fleece us with tax cuts and spending plans that will never materialise.

Looking at how most people seem to be unclear on what's left, centre or right in today's political climate I made a drawing.

I have literally no idea how I could NOT include myself in the group of **** monkeys. I mean, I clearly marked the whole spectrum to be included in that group.

I have no problem if it's everyone.

My Finnish OH has often thought it odd about how little we are tracked and logged on systems compared to there.

Edit: For opening bank accounts and the like you need to prove identity and residence anyway using a passport or driving licence.

That said, my OH having a specific number for her right to stay is uncomfortable - it would be less so if we all had one.

TBH, I'd be happy with everyone doing it. I suspect a national I.D. card would be useful for it though.

Comes to something when an MP has to announce they aren't willing to break the law.

But this is where we are.
