I meant the car industry, iirc Renault and Toyota were both fudging figures too.

Lada were caught at it too, artificially inflating their emissions figures to make their engines look more powerful.

And on top of that, in the "I totally did not see that coming (except I totally saw that coming)" category:

Well they did want a aus style system, complete with dumping asylum seekers on a remote island.

All becoming clearer how bad brexit will be and brexiters starting to have squeaky bum time. And counting 1587 days still no brexiter put forward any positive argument.

Anyone surprised? Anyone? No? Yeah, figured. (Apologies if already posted, it's a week old now but I couldn't see it at a glance.)

Excellent, a slow shift back to 'seasonal foods' a reduction in air miles, the reliance on other markets, Jamie Oliver will be over the moon and the environment will thank us.

'poor people' don't eat fresh fruit n veg, have the media not taught you anything, it's all fast food and ready meals.

Yeah, sounds great. We've also solved the obesity crisis given that we only grow 61 percent of the food we eat and rely on imports for the rest.

Also, I hope you like animal feed for lunch: per Hodmedod co-founder Josiah Meldrum (cue "I don't believe it!"), becoming self-sufficient for food means "eating the vegetable protein that would usually be grown for animals."

As for the environment thanking us? Same article: "There will be potentially more land under the plough, with less room for wildlife-friendly farming."

    Furrfu.
