I spy a silver lining to all this mess. I've always hated urban centres, high rise housing, etc., I think it's ghastly. And more people spreading into the countryside might mean we actually get a bit more infrastructure and such.

    Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
Y'all stay in your urban centres with access to theatres, food delivery and public transport thank you very much, we're terribly full up out here in the god forsaken countryside and have no more room left for you.

Sorry about that, we also can't get 4g, DAB or high speed internet, so you stay put, I'm doing you a favour, really I am.

And, stop pushing up our rural house prices, so local people might still have a chance of affording to buy, locally.

A local house for local people...

    Like the shop!

I think it's a bit of give and take - better infrastructure would be good, but unfortunately it's hard to stop things like that once they gather momentum. Dare I say it, IMO one of the things that makes the countryside so attractive is its lack of infrastructure. I'd guess that most people who make the jump from urban to rural do so precisely because they want to disconnect (this is certainly true of us). We will still have all the mod cons, but at the cost of super fast Amazon delivery, super fast broadband, and super fast trips to Asda and such like. I'd take that trade any day.

What kind of Micky Mouse operation are they running?
We ship parcels out to the EU every day, and pallets once a week, we've not noticed any impact at all using reputable courier firms (the price may or may not have risen but I don't get involved with that side)

I know that the method of shipping to the EU has changed in certain areas this year. I was talking to a guy the other week who drives a 7.5 tonner part time for a local subsidiary of a major global freight forwarder.
He's had hardly any work this year as they don't need a local driver so much. A lot of the goods that were going on HGV lorries across the channel are now going to Heathrow and onto their planes because the situation at the ports is so disruptive.
The HGV drivers are doing less long distance/cross channel work, so are available to drive the smaller trucks to London or locally.

Think this will just be the start of fun times.

Now the EU have ratified the deal I expect them to throw sanctions our way until we keep up our end of the deal re NI that we signed up to.

Careful what you wish for, I hear they wanted her out cos she was viewed as too liberal.

What is her replacement going to be like? Remember, this is the party that locked children's playgrounds on Sundays to stop frivolity on "gods chosen day".

Now we're free to be able to not strike deals with non-EU countries:

"They" meaning the DUP party, they didn't think she was doing enough to ensure adherence to their ultra-nationalistic and christian (as long as it is their version) tradition.

A few things they thought she was too liberal on were Brexit, same sex marriage, gay rights and the relationship with Ireland (republic).
