Haha! TBH it just shows how arrogant MS have become - they should have known something like this would occur given the reaction to their's and Sony's first presentations. There was a common theme running in the complaints about both and although MS did counter with a game centric presentation, they did nothing to answer many of the criticisms regarding 'ownership' of games. They got their price point wrong too - unless they are going to throw in a tablet for all the Smatglass stuff they demoed! At this moment, if I were to buy a console, it would be a PS4. The downside being I have the most 'friends' on XBL and hardly any on PSN. On the other hand, there is nothing being released on either machine that interests me that much as most of the stuff I want is on PC anyway. The exception being Forza, which without wheel support is useless anyway.
thing is IMO- the sony eye toy will likely close the gap cost wise to the Kinect equipped XBO , that and amazon are listing DS4 controllers at £90!
Yes, but I don't have to buy that do I. Also, do you really think thats the final price? They were also charging £600 for the console a few weeks ago.
Oh ****. Prepare yourselves. I'm not going to img link it as its quite err a sensitive wiki edit. At your own risk
Meh why are they rebooting mirrors edge, orignal was damn good and there was plenty of room for a sequel, hope they wont make it too actioney As for the Xbox one, very surprising the MS's stance is very similar to sonys when the ps3 was released.
Microsoft have tried to do what Sony failed to do on its ps3 launch try a high price in the hopes people want your console enough. It did not work for Sony and it wont work for MS. Sonys Blue ray player ps3 was even cheaper than any blue ray player in the uk on launch and it still struggled for sales at its launch price. That Eye toy is not required and something id never buy. The thing in sonys favour is a huge demand for friends loaning each other games market and the second hand market + price. 3 Pretty big factors. For parents it will work out cheaper also.
Agree with all of that. I still don't think I'll buy a console, but having to pay for all that Kinnect rubbish, and after how M$ have treated real gamers in the latter half of this gen, I'm pleased to see PS4 come off well. That said, Titanfall looks epic, and its a shame PS4 hasn't it too.
is there a thread anywhere with a poll xbox one v ps4? what i like (game wise) with the xbox one is "the crew" driving game, and titanfall but all that stupidity surrounding owning and selling games i dont fancy that...
Have MS actually showed any worthwhile games using the new Kinect? If people are gonna pay the extra for the Kinect-equipped box then they're gonna want to use it (probably in a way that's cool enough to flip the bird at PS4 buyers), so what is there? How many original Kinect buyers would swap it for their money back if they could?
I never purchased for Kinect for my 360, and don't regret it. There hasn't been a single Kinect game worth purchasing in the entire time it has been available...so why is that suddenly going to change with Kinect2? Sony have done the right thing by making the PS Eye an additional option if you do decide to pick up a game that uses it. It drives the initial price down, and that is what people look at.
Actually, for people who haven't seen, it looks like Sony are doing the same with DRM kinda after all :/ http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/06/11/e3-2013-ps4-used-game-restrictions-up-to-publishers
All sequels, 3 years old at the latest. #coolstory PS4's arguably greatest weakness, requirement of PS+ for online play, offers benefits such as the Instant Game Collection and sports a lower subscription cost than XBL Gold.
Yeah, but actually, EA just came out and said they are cancelling the idea of an 'online pass' going forward, so hopefully other publishers will follow suit.
