from a consumer point of view, the amount of content that can be found on sites like, G4, gametrailers, gamespot, etc.... is crazy.....

not sure that most of these press guys would be able to deliever the type of content that have been available in the last two years as the public would be in the way.

if i was able to get to E3 every year then i would love to play these games first hand, but if E3 change back to what it was, would we still get the same coverage with all the public queuing to play these games as well as the press?

It was E3's own choise, if you don't want to be a gamer (customer) event but a pure "maker" event...and the makers have no interest in meeting eachother...

    This is what happens.

Any excuse to post Bianca Beauchamp in PVC.

As for E3, it looks like everyone's saying the same thing. What once was a revered event has become a farce.

where did that picture come from, i want a full sized one :p

gaming conventions are about players getting a feel of what to expect. so E3 basically shot both of its feet at the same time, while waving good-bye

I'm confused. Why is the Governor of Texas giving the keynote address at E3? What does he have to do with the video game industry?

Indeed but in the spirit of being pedantic, she is wearing latex/rubber and not PVC

Surely it was a consortium of all of these companies who decided to scale it down in the first place?

If they want the old, "good" E3 back (like all of us gamers do) they can have it... Surely?

In all seriousness, hasn't the Leipzig Games Convention already taken over from E3? I didn't even know E3 was still going on until it was mentioned here.

Hum... the whole purpose of tradeshows is to introduce products to the customers. Holding press only events was seriously the dumbest idea ever for E3. I can't believe the software/hardware manufacturers still participated in the events. Come on, we the gamers are the consumer, not the press. Give us boobs and free swag and we will be happy, exclude us from your event and you are wasting your money.

ya E3 has been going down hill for years now, I mean this year like what some 1300 companies turned then down or something ridiculous like that and I think if it keeps up like this we will be telling stories of E3 by 2010 instead watching coverage on it and they need to go back to be semi-public versus press only.
