I'm sure I remember him being slightly more in touch than most CEO's..

Or, at least, coming across that way.

I was willing to pay launch price for sim city but minute i saw it was EA game, i wouldn't pay anything.
Had my origin account hacked, and only way to contact EA is through your origin account. the chinese guy can keep my bf3, EA had loads of money to make a massive splash on the digital retail side and the ballzed it up.

I'm sure the sword he's falling on is made up of millions of $$$ worth of cash and stock options.

Failure has a different meaning to the 1%, it's called winning the lottery.

Well we'll see what difference, if any, having a new CEO will do.

That's what I was thinking. A company as large as EA doesn't need a CEO because there's a president and a vice president for every other stupid little job. I'm sure they have a president and VP for just SimCity, and a separate president and VP for Battlefield. Hell I'm sure they've got a P and VP for the custodians. And always note that when there's a president, there's usually another collection of board members, and then a collection of group managers, and then managers, and so on. These people do almost nothing and they probably get paid more than the actual developers. This is, IMO, the reason why AMD has been failing - at this point they probably have more administration than they have driver developers.

LOL! I'd go out and protest if I didn't secretly hope some of their vulgar wealth would eventually trickle down to me...

Word. Not in gaming, but I see this where I work, where it's just starting. There are increasing levels of management, whose purpose and function is questionable. They're making, as a rough guess, from twice to six times what the proles make. And that's why they "can't afford" full staff down in the trenches.

And that's not nearly as bad as a company EA's size - this dude probably made 100x what the devs make, and he gets to walk away with a "my bad" and the board will fall over themselves to cram him full of cash like a pasty WASP pinata.

For EA, though, you have to wonder if everyone inside hates the DRM squad...and do they wander EA's halls, crying "I was just following orders!"?

See ya. Feed the cat, and shut the door on the way out please.

Enjoy SimCity 5 on your days off. Maybe if it doesnt need a Rollback or a server disconnect

I heard that EA are closing EA Los Angeles, Which after C&C 4 isn't a massive surprise, but even so.
