Alright, I've got NFS:U2 and Sims 2 (both by EA), and when I attempt to install either game on either my laptop or my home system, they'll just sit there once the game gets to the end of installing the first disk, and it won't ask for the second one. I've even tried two different copies of NFS:U2, mine and my buddies, and neither set of disks works! I could understand if it was something on one system being buggy, but when it's two systems doing the same exact thing, it's a little more then strange. And if your wondering, on my buddies system they both install perfectly without a problem.
I've had installation quirks for no real reason with drivers, games and software. After I had a format tho everything went fine. Strange, you probably don't want to format tho but it's worth a try.
Well i downloaded*cough NFSU-2 and it works fine for me, maybe if you try an download it and install it with virtual drives with Deamon tools it`ll work? worked fine for me so maybe worth a try? `P2D
Yeah, my "back up" ( ) copy was initaly installed this way, but I don't feel like making an image just to install. By the way, laptop is < a week old, and the install on the desktop is < a week old. Got it to work though, had to disable all virtual drives (went from like 5 optical drives on my laptop down to one) and it installed, stupid EA.
Virtual drives annoy me like hell caused me basically the same problem like you except it asked me to insert new disc blah blah I finally installed my game after disabling them ...
Ea hate virtual drive software. Fortunately kind people on the internet often solve these problems with unofficial patches, just to save EA getting round to it, I'm sure. Regardless, it is, contrary to what is obviously a worldwide law, allowed for you to have virtual drive software on your machine, and an EA game at the same time.
