    I read this expecting it to be old 04/05 kind of era games. But 09 games? Bloody hell i guess they failed.

    If they didn't insist on making barely improved copies of the same game year on year they wouldn't have to worry about server support in the first place.

    Madden 09? Really? So basically they're expecting EVERYONE to buy the latest version of the game on a yearly basis, otherwise they don't get to play online

    In fairness to EA it's not like they nerfed BF2's servers when BF2142 came out, and I doubt many of those games listed have a sizeable online following.

    Most of the guys around here who play madden or NHL titles from EA only play the newest. My cousin for example trades his last year game always in to get the new one.
    I do the same for the tiger woods games but only because he does the same with his women :D

    QFT. EA make the same rubbish year in year out, barely making any upgrades of any sort. Nothing worthwhile was shut down. Hardly news.

    I know we do the same here with NHL but still, 1 year online support for a 60$ game is a rip off,

    to be fair, most of those games have a 2010 outing already and most of the old schoolers playing on 2009 editions are probably not online. still a surprise that some of these are only a year old tho.

    I wonder if this breaks the MS achievements rule of not having to buy peripherals to get an achievement. A camera is one thing, but a server? :p

    I wonder how big the wails of Woe and Lamentation are going to be when IW shuts down their servers for MW2, forcing people to buy the next lame installment of a watered down franchise.

    hope that was an joke 1.3 patch is what basically destroyed the PC gaming community for BF2 (guess testing the server was not in the QA department), and to add to that they used the same game code in BF2142 beta and the servers had the same server crash issues and they was never fully fixed in the full game, 1.4 patch came out for bf2 some 2-6 months after bf2142 come out
