    Howdy

Thinking it's time to get myself some better earbuds as I'm currently using sub £30 ones what I know aren't great but my use was never huge but doing alot more travel I should treat myself to something better.

However, my knowlegde of whats good is non existant.

    Wants and desires

Good bass - music is metal and genres around that.
Some noise cancelling - some of my travel is on coach and I don't like hearing other peoples conversations when trying to listen to an audiobook.
Fast charge on the earbuds - sometimes I coach travel and charging for 10-15 would help boost the buds.

Budget up to £100, would spend more but I use diffreent earphones and buds for different uses (gym, travel, at work) so I split the overall budget over more.

    Cheers

Check out these https://www.myearfun.com/uk/headphones, they have a range that won't break the bank and have had some good reviews in the likes of What Hi-Fi. I've had mine(EarFun Air) a couple of years now and I love them. They have a good battery life and the case charges them too.

I think WF1000XM3 can be bought for under £100 these days, watch out for offers. I got mine for £70, active noise cancel is my main requirement and these absolutely delivers. Sound quality is also superb.

Also works itself loose from ear unless regularly push it in. ANC works great doing work around house and can still hear audio when vacuum cleaning.

I used to have a pair of £30 Soundcore P2 life (IIRC). Definite improvement over those. I think XM3 have fast charging, something like 10min for a lot more listen time. Someone please correct me if I’m talking rubbish.

Been quite happy with my Anker Life A1 buds. Nothing fancy, no noise cancellation beyond those rubber thingys, IPX7, dirt cheap and makes noises

Bluetooth sound quality is still pants, do yourself a favour and just get some decent earphones.

Earphones for £50 will kick the living crap out of earbuds 10 times that price.

I pledge allegiance to my KZ DQ6s. Yes they're wired, they took some fiddling to get earplug tips that played nice with them, but they sound great. Plus they have earplug tip, so put them in and silence.

Whilst i agree, i wouldnt go back

the level of ease is off the chart with Bluetooth compared to cabled.

I used to always avoid back when stuff like the magic buds and a few of the jaybuds etc were the in thing and they sounded amazing, but the catching cables in zipps, putting it over stuff like jackets etc, catching on doors etc, or pulling down when under a tshirt etc, tangled cabled, one earbud stopping working due to the cable etc. Just cant be doing it anymore. I think unless your a proper audiophile then bluetooth is 100 percent passable, even then stuff like the xm3-xm4-qc35 esk earphones do an absolute stunning job at 100 percent less hassle.

Open box. pair, listen. No inbetween normally. Then after its just open put on, play. With spotify offering decent audio quality, or if your still into buying or downloading, then flack and some power amp (i have a few albums), just cant fault it, to many pros for the very few amount of cons :)

I actually have wired earphones as a backup when travelling and gym, even have a BT adapter if the wires bugging me.
I used to be 100% pro wired but the convenince of BT when at gym and travelling won me over enough.

Bought some Anker P3 as they are under £50 on Amazon so I can put the change aside for another set or maybe a new set of wired headphones

I bought these merely so I could fall asleep with 1 in on the side I'm not sleeping on whilst watching stuff on tv in bed with a timer on... https://www.scan.co.uk/products/pla...art-sensors-58-mm-drivers-noisecancelling-mic

They do 19 hours worth of battery life at 6 hours per charge in the case itself without a cable plugged in, then plug it in and it charges both the case and the buds.

I'm now using them loads - yes they don't have usb-c which I don't care about as I have another set of cheap headphones that use the same cable but they were originally something disgusting like $180-220 a few years back and are bluetooth 5.0 and last 6 hours then a 10 min charge in the case which has a battery built into it will give you another hour or leave them in for around an hour and they seem to do the full 6 hours again - and I haven't plugged them into a fast charging socket either (as couldn't see wether they were compatible or not with 1 and have blown up earphones before by using one of them by mistake so am very cautious these days lol)

I seem to be using them when cooking, when watching movies and for everything now...

And for £35 next day free delivery if you have a scan/hexus free delivery thing and a free charging thing with it (that i've not used but still a nice bonus) you can't go wrong.

Don't get me wrong they're not audiofile grade porno but for £35 considering how much they were when they first come out I reckon this is a good sweet spot!

Oh and they come with multiple ear bud bits and if you're like me where 1 ear is a different size bud to the other you can get the sweet spot. just work out the correct way to put them in your ear then they're so comfy - I rotated mine slightly and made then super nice fit/comfort wise - I don't get on with headphones as always get cramp pains from the cups.
