Can some one point me in the right direction of a video editing suite that is easy to use please? also, can you instruct me on adding sound, pictures and cutting chunks out that you don't want?

It all seems to be terribly complicated :(

The best video editing tool is "Adobe Premier Pro" and "Final Cut Pro" which is very easy to use and there are different segments for audio, video and pictures where you can easily compile these three and transform it in a wonderful video. There is option of "import files" from where you can easily add sounds and pictures.

Windows Video Editor but I don't think it's available anymore. I just use iMovie because I am on Mac.

For downloadable ones, Final Cut Pro is easy to use but I think you have to pay for it.
