It WAS NOT NEW. It had no shrink wrap or anti static bag, and had a tesco shopping bag thrown over it inside the box etc. His description was WRONG. What I meant to say was 'people who sell 'used' stuff should test before selling. So should I just tell him I will not leave feedback, then when he's given me my refund, leave neutral?
But you didn't say that, no need to CAPS LOCK at me. Should you lie to someone's face and then stab him in the back?
Why not just forget about the feedback thing for the moment and decide later if you will give it at all, neutral or positive once he send's a full refund..there is no need to worry too much right now if you should leave it or not. End of the day your the customer, you have to decide depending on how you feel about the whole transaction on what to leave feedback wise and not be lead on what everyone else here say's, it's your transaction and everyone here is going to give you different advice depending on how 'they would feel if they were in your shoes'
i wouldnt give some one positive for a faulty product if thats not what neutral is there for what is it there for? if he had opened it just to test it he could have just taped up the anti static bag(i wouldnt agree with testing something like that)
Don't mention feedback in your communication at all, it kind of defeats the purpose. It's there to be left after the transaction has been completed, satisfactorily or otherwise. What I would do is wait a while for a refund. If one is given leave neutral. Punishment be damned, that's what it's there for. You can't leave positive because the listing was flat out wrong and the item didn't work. You can't reaaally leave negative if he gives you a full refund, because it hasn't done you any harm. Therefore: neutral. That's what's fair. The only other option is negative if he doesn't refund. I wouldn't be too worried about posting the item back either, it's broken, what's he gonna do with it except try to sell it on again.
i've found this a useful question to ask myself in a quite a number of circumstances. particularly of the interpersonal variety.
Look, if he did this to you then I don't want him to do it to me. Leave him a Neutral so other people don't get messed around by this fool.
