Anyone got the £26 ebuyer 550W psu?? wondering what they are like or are too good to be true? I very much doubt they are a true 550W but are they stable?

I personally wouldn't trust any claims of a 550W PS for only $UK26.

    I have a 400watt ebuyer one, cost me £20.
What do you actually do to test whether a psu is good or not?
I'll test my one (I know its the 400watt version, but at least you'll know about ebuyer PSUs in general) if someone tells me, and then post results...

Just the voltage stability really, and if it doesnt die a death 2 minutes into a loaded cpu cycle.

Wouldn't trust ebuyer too much myself! Had a 300 watt one from there once and it was really aweful! In fact, most of the stuff I have had from there has been bad and had to be RMA'd! At least there aren't too bad with refunds, so you could try it and if it's not too good send it back!;)

I ordered pretty much all of my pc from ebuyer :D So far its running great!

No probs at all with the PSU, voltages are pretty good, then again the 250watt I got free with my case runs fine too...

If its a cheap PS you might get system instability (strange errors, etc..) Just use MBM and check your 12, 5, 3 volt lines and see if they are at or over these values (and see if its consistent, not 4.89 then 5.1 from one second to the next). I guess you get what you paid for, so i wouldn't trust it.

I've got one ofthe 400 Watt jobbies, i can write up a review no trouble, I also still ahve the origianl box it came in. It's been running now for the last 2 - 3 months no problems at all, purring like apussy cat :) No crahses, no blown CPU's, not nothing. Hey it even has a gold fan grill on it!!

The brand on the box says its a Youngear or something like that, once I've cleaned up a bit I'll review it.
