After this experience I might have been tempted not to order from ebuyer again, but I did, and again have been let down by them. This time the order came to roughly £200, mostly wireless stuff (an access point, and a couple of PCI adapters). I ordered on 27th February and the order arrived on 3rd March. When I unpacked everything the following weekend (the delivery was made to my home address, rather than my weekly address at Uni), only one of the PCI cards was there. It was Friday night and so there was no chance of getting Ebuyer on the phone until Monday, so I left them an enote. They've just got back to me saying that the shipping weight was as it should be and they need to investigate further (with CityLink, the couriers).

Even if the problem comes down to CityLink (which seemed to be the case last time), why do Ebuyer continue to use them?

Has anybody else had similar problems. Should I be doing anything to try and get what I've paid for?

    citylink are really awful.

ive seen one of their drivers just throwing random packages to the back of his van quite forcefully while rummaging through all the packages what were just loose on the floor of the van.

in my experience ebuyer are usually fiarly good. But their enote system is appaling, seems to take the most part of a week to get a reply to an enote.

Maybe its because the City Link driver around here is really canny, but Ive never really been let down by ebuyer.

If things go wrong with them you are definately in the ****, but, thusfar Ive ordered from them atleast 20 times and nothing has gone wrong really...

...Once I got an A7V333 mobo which was faulty, but I just ordered a new one and returned that one (knowing that a replacement would take weeks)... Now one came quickly, got my refund at some point down the line...

City Link are absolutely dire they have got my address wrong on 2 seperate occasions, and somebody even managed to re-arrange my delivery from them, without proving who he was or giving my order number.

Trust me, its more likely to be city link at fault than ebuyer.

I have been let down by ebuyer a number of times. I still use them but follow some simple rules. Never order expensive items there (if it does go wrong and havent got the money to order somewhere else in the mean time then youre stuffed). Never, ever order anything thats out of stock. When i have it delays the whole order (giving an opertunity for other items to go out of stock) then they usually end up cancelling the out of stock item due to a price change or other excuse. Since then i have only ever ordered cheap stuff up to the value of about £50 and never had a problem.

My manager had to get something delivered...

    Not from Ebuyer though.

It was delivered by City Link, should have been 2 business day delivery...

It took them two weeks to 'find our building'.

Two weeks to find a building with a 200' frontage and giant BT logos.

Even after calling them and giving directions several times...They couldn't find us.

I've never had any problems with ebuyer, the few times I've used them that is.

CityLink on the other hand destroyed a whole 10 unit shipment of TFT Monitors we ordered (no from ebuyer btw)

They were shipped on a pallet from the suppliers to their regional warehouse and it wouldn't fit in the van coming to us so they unpacked them and put them in seperatly, needless to say they were loose in the van and every single one arrived with dented/broken packaging.

Was funny seeing the look on the delivery man's face as my Boss refused to take them and demanded he be put through to the delivery man's boss immediatly

The CityLink insurance paid for new ones and we also got to keep the old ones as a gesture of good will too :D (though only 6 actually worked)

And I thought it was unimpressive when they failed to find my house on three occasions, especially after I had given them directions and my phone number in case they still couldn't find the house. In the end I gave up and just collected the parcel from the depot. I may live in a small village where a lot of houses don't have clear names or numbers, but no other parcel company (and over the years I have used almost all of the major ones) has ever had any problems finding it. What a bunch of absolute primates.

Had pretty much the same problem this week! Ebuyer and Citylink.
My new case was due and a fan, the fan came but no case ebuyer said city link have 'lost' the case and ebuyer will send a replacement.

So it could be ebuyer lying about it or Citylink are just really bad.

    All sorted now though.

I ordered a TFT from Scan which was shipped by City-Link and I never saw the monitor, apparentely they "lost" it as well, then it took them 3 days to tell scan that it had been nicked so that scan could refund me, their customer service was crap as well (city-link) they basically couldn't give a toss, whereas scans couldn't have kissed my ass any more.

I hadn't heard anything from ebuyer, so I phoned them about an hour ago. They've just sent me an e-mail and are sending me the missing card. No explanation as to why is was missing, but at least it all seems to be resolved. Now all that remains is for it to make it's way through the City Link delivery gauntlet.

Thanks for all the replies :thumb:.

CityLink are bloody rubbish - parcel didn't arrive one time so I looked on their online order tracking thingy - said they had carded me cos there was no answer at th door - pft! yeah right, they put the card through someone else's door in another street!

Mind you, when I met the van driver the next day I could see how this kind of thing happens - completely retarded.

what i don't understand is how city link can actually be universally so bad. I mean were all in diferent parts of the country with different depots and drivers, and yet they all seem to be crap. Is being bad their company ethos or something?

It seems to me the requirement for getting hired by citylink is to have been fired by one of the other delivery companies for being a total tard.

I have to give CityLink my praise, they find us every time (same driver iirc) and have delivered to me many times (we are very remote and up a 1/2 mile track). I recieved my 17" TFT via them a week or so back, there were a few inches of ice and snow and it was impossible to get up the hill in our track due to ice etc, my dad was home and saw the CL van attempt the hill, fail, attempt again, fail, attempt again and then attempt to go up the hill to our neighbour, then another van came along, they both talked a bit, the other van left and the CL van went for another go at our track, by this time my dad went down in the 4x4 to get it lol. Our CityLink driver sure as hell isn't the sharpest knife in the kitchen but by gum he's determined!
