When ebuyer shows the shipping date of an item does that also mean the delivery date?

I'm asking because I specifically chose Saturday delivery (17/10/2009) because I'm at work during the week but the shipping date shows 16/10/2009.

For the record, this is my first purchase from them so they'll only deliver to the billing address.

Surely shipping date = the day of it being shipped?

    That's OK then.

I hope it doesn't because I'd hate (for them) to start off on the wrong foot. :hehe:

Perhaps it means the day it's shipped to the courier?

Shipping date almost exclusively means "The day the item left us with the courier".

If you paid for next day, and shipping date is a Friday, you will get it on Monday. If you paid for Saturday delivery, and shipping date is a Friday, you will get it on Saturday.

Assuming, of course, the courier is not a bag of arses :p

In my experience, ebuyer are one of the better e-taillers for computer hardware and components. I've never had a problem with them to date, touch wood. I find that 9 times out of 10 they ship next working day, so liratheal's post above is an accurate assumption :)

Incidentally, they ship with Intitial city link, one of the best courriers I have ever dealt with (over here anyway). Same as Scan and a few other retaillers we occasionally use.

Over here, they tend to be a bit **** - The only time I've had reliable deliveries from them is through eBuyer. But hey - I've never had issues getting them to fork out for their own idiocy (They claimed to have tried to deliver to me one day, and I'd been in all day, in the lounge so I could not miss them knocking the door - They didn't, and their site claimed they'd tried to deliver but no one was in. Called, explained, they turned up half an hour later.)

I've had numerous problems with shitty link, but then again all delivery companies have stupid moments.

    Indeed they do.

Midlands area seems to have more ICL cockups than other couriers, though.

shitty link indeed! Although in our house we get at least 5 orders through city link a month, through aria and ebuyer and city are always fine, turn up at a reasonable time and never damaged. The dude is a bit grump but aren't they all?! Except UPS...UPS drivers are always happy as fook!

But yes, Ebuyer are very ****ing sharp. If you asked for saturday delivery, you WILL get saturday delivery. Don't be surprised if it turns up at 8.30am too - every sat delivery from Ebuyer I have had has been ridiculously early.

Best e-tailer for computer parts in my opinion. Aria have gone down the pan and Scan have a crap site.

I've never had problems, but the City Link guy is scared of my dog.

Oh, and my last 5 orders with eBuyer have been delivered by the Men in Brown. Sorry, UPS.

true. aria used to be the cheapest for a lot of things, but it seems to be exclusively cheap ass monitors and remote control helicopters nowadays.

scan are just terrible customer service. trying to rma something is a complete pain in the ass and they will charge you at every given opportunity.

ebuyer seem to have the opinion that they would rather just get the item back and have you happy as soon as possible, which is a much better attitude.

I've had confirmation from ebuyer that "the shipping date is the day before the scheduled delivery date" so will hopefully be here Saturday.

ebuyer say's my order is being delivered by parcelforce but their website doesn't recognise the tracking number. :/

Oh well, we'll see what happens.

Yeah, parcel force tracking numbers tend to be a pain in the ass. I've had a few that, while I was supposed to be able to track during shipment, didn't show up on the tracking system until the day after delivery.

Down here in Devon ebuyer delivery tends to be next day no matter what you paid for. I just bought a whole new system, ordered it with the free 5 day delivery, and the whole lot was there the next day, even though I placed the order at around 4 in the afternoon. :thumb:

I got my parcel today at about 9:30 so all is well.

But I'd be annoyed if they did deliver earlier than requested (even as a good gesture) because I wouldn't have been at home.

Glad you got your package Jetfire :) ebuyer and scan have very good delivery targets,I have never had any problems with either of them. I had an RMA problem with Scan once but thats been more than offset by their free delivery as a member of Hexus and Custom PC :)
I supposed City link etc have different levels of service accordiing to how the local depot is run.
