News Ecco creator's Kickstarter fails

Did anybody actually like Ecco the Dolphin, or even get past level 2??

Enough people liked it that they made Ecco 2, Ecco Jr, and that 3D Ecco game on the Dreamcast.
I played it back in the day. I didn't "get it."
Which is to say I swam around lost in the caves until I got bored.
