Has anybody got experience of Ee as virgin took the mickey with a renewed off of £1 discount I'm look at the 1600 gb package but I've no idea if it will be any good.
No idea about EE for the last few years, but we had a basic 50mb connection from the point of O2 stopping their broadband service until we could get a 900mb Vodaphone connection around 2023 or 4. While it wasn't the fastest at the time it worked. I can't remember any significant downtime. What I did find with Virgin (and this was confirmed by the "Virgin man" I spoke too. Cancelling gets you a better price. I cancelled mine as it was doing the usual contract renew where it goes from £25 up to £52, but they can discount it by £1.72. I cancelled and got an install date for Grain. Virgin then called me and I got it down to maybe £17. Stayed with them and cancelled the install.
I didn't know it was going to happen so I was surprised when it did. But if you cancel and it's doesn't happen, make sure you've got a plan in place. I don't want some angry Scottish bloke trying to get over Hadrians Wall again.
I've been with EE a couple of months now. I'm on 900Mb for £25.99 and it's been pretty solid so far. I had an issue where my Pixel phone did not like the default wi-fi. Looks like it was down to WPA3 so I created a 2nd network forcing WPA2 and that's been fine.
I was expecting to need to do the cancel-dance two years running now, but just this week (and this time last year) I got mails with “Good news, we’re extending your introductory discount for another year”. I wonder what’s different, vs what seems to be the majority of other virgin customers?
Ive not had that one yet. I got my bill in yesterday though, I'm currently paying £25 reduced from about £60 for about 350mb which has the free O2 Volt upgrade applied to it where you pay for the service below. I have had dropout issues for the last month. Had a technician around yesterday. He upgraded my Super Hub 3 to a 5. See if he fixed it as we go
Switching over to EE on the 19th Aug 1.6gb line, virgin has been completely useless and of no help at all.
