I don't know the exact process honestly, but I was told that if you sign up after buying one for the first year it should email you a code that unlocks it. I will do my best to find out - where did you buy one? US/UK etc? (Just in case it's a localised issue).
Two new, official vids btw (I co-wrote some of the scripts). Rick works with me in corp. marketing and Mimi is the actual software manager for it. While they're not pro presenters (as you may have guessed) they do actually know what they are talking about
UK Can't find any instructions anywhere. The WebStorage page has nothing on it...also left a question on the WebStorage forum a few days ago - no reply. All very confusing for the end user. Oh, and if you're in a position to pass some feedback on... MyNet needs more codecs (won't play .avi files although they can be viewed from local storage in other apps). The soft keyboard needs audio feedback - just a little click or blip on keypress would make it so much more usable. And finally, Mimi is hot!
MyNet uses Android 3.0. Just like the iPhone/iPod/Android phones you need to recode everything to make it Tegra 2 compatible. ARM CPUs have limited decoding support and they don't have enough grunt to play a whole host of codecs. Even the gurus at VLC has taken a few years to get an Android port out without luck still because it has to be compiled from the ground up. Try Freemake (video converter) - use the Apple or Android encoding settings to make h.264 baseline videos in mp4 format with aac or mp3 audio.
I just had a look at one IRL for the first time. It looks good. Very good. Thinner and sturdier than I expected, with an awesome screen and a fluid, intuitive interface. And I love the 'tree in a field' wallpaper. My wife just spent the last five minutes trying to persuade me to treat myself and buy one. Bless her.
One of my colleagues at work has one and was using it in the staff kitchen the other day, and I have to say, its about the coolest thing I've ever seen. FWIW I never thought the iPad was cool, I just kinda 'expected' it to happen some time, but I think this Eee Pad Transformer is cool. I definitely want to buy one. Putting extra-capacity batteries in the keyboard section was a stroke of genius too. He told me that he hadn't used his PC in a week because the Eee Pad Transformer was more than fast enough for his forums, streaming videos, etc... jealous.
