I've just bough a compact 600 (and a 300 in case I find a use for it) and want to use it to replace my Hydor L20. The outlep is 13mm OD approx and I am using 12mm OD tubing (From ASetek waterchill).

Now currenly the res has a 12mm OD push-fit outlet so has anyone got a handy idea for how to sort this out?

    Whoa, deja-vu! ;)

Got a pic to clarify? I think I know what you mean but it would definately make it easier...

Hmm, I take it it's not threaded then?
That's why I don't like the Sicce Nova's - The fittings I get for them are a plastic screw-in type and I'm under advice to tell people to bond them in.
    Meh. :grr: No thanks.

All I can think of right now is flexible hose with a ferrule for inner strength into a suitably sized pushfit connector using an unequal connector of some sort...
 or a 12mm/13mm unequal pushfit adaptor, straight on to the pump.

    Doh, sorry - no, 12mm & 14mm only. Sorry.
Inline Pushfit to barb conversion then, I guess.

I saw that mod before - it worried me. :p
It looks like the end of the impellor shaft is unsupported (unless it's inside the fitting, which would obviously block flow, so I doubt that's the case).
I think you'd get heavy wear on the impellor bearings before too long if it's the former.
Remember what happened with mashie's HDDs? I'd think it'd be a similar situation.

Dunno really, it's hard to tell from the pics.
Worth a go if they're cheap enough though. :)

    Oh they're cheap alright GBP12.49inc for the 600, 7.49 for the 300.

I don't fancy the fulll mod but i wouldin't mind fitting an outlet. He seem s to think a 3/8 would do it. Off to Farnell again:grr:

Ok my little pump mod plans are hitting a spot of trouble so I'll recap and ask for some suggests:

I have a pair of eheim compact pumps, the 300 and 600 models. I'm planning to run these submerged, but need to get some outlet fittings on them. The pump outlet on both of these is c13mm OD, 11mm ID and I wanted to use 12mm OD tubing on the big pump outlet and 8mm OD on the little fellow.

Now I had a look and it seemed that I might be able to thread a 1/4" BSP female fitting onto the outlet pipe, but alas its a little too thick and if I manage to grind it down enough to get the thread started it cuts right through the pipe alltogether.

Alternatively I should be able to thread a male 1/4 thread into the pipe, should, hopefully work, but I really could do with a thread tapping tool. However a 1/4 thread fitting is close to 6mm ID and that seems a bit restrictive. I'm looking at the bump body, but I don't think I can fit a 3/8 fitting into it so I think my only option is to fit a hose on the outlet and work it from there.

I can't see that any 12mm OD hose would be elastic enough to fit over a 13mm OD outlet and still be stiff enough to work in a push-fit connector, but If anyone can see a way please do let me know. I suppose I could get a bit of 1/2 inch tubing and a female 3/8 thread 1/2" barb and thread that back to a 3/8 thread 12mm fitting, but that would take up a bit of space and ideally I'd want this all to take place within the res.

    Any thoughts?
