It means another EK product isn't up to scratch and their QC is awful..

Right well from what I have read yes that seems to be the case but it still doesn't solve the problem?

I have purchased a new 360 rad which im going install but I need to get a few supplies ( and some free time! ) before this happens. But until then I wouldn't mind a temporary solution.

As far as I can see it just means that there's a bit of a shroud effect on one side and it's on the 140mm rads. Gives you a bit of extra space for screws as well.

Note that the Black Ice SR rads make a feature of this although they have a more effective built in shroud.

i don't quite think it means either of these things...

Okay, it's certainly an average rad - though it depends on budget & what you're trying to cool as it's by no means the most expensive out there - but has nothing to do with QC as this is obviously down to design.

Then, other than the problems with some newer nickel plated blocks & some fluids/additives (which is specific & isolated), i'm not quite sure where your idea that their QC is awful comes from?

So where there's one fairly recent issue to point at, suggesting that this is repesentative would be like saying that all Crucial products are a pos because they released a f/w early on that bricked a significant no of C300s...

[not that i'm saying that Crucial SSDs are the bee's knees, as they're clearly not - but they're a good budget option.]

...or that everything Corsair produces is dreadful because their new 6Gb/s SFs are faulty (d.t. using the reference SF 2X00 design vs OCZ having their own design) & have been recalled...

...or that intel make nothing but shonkiness because of the SB recall...

    ...or...

Well the Supreme HF CPU block is still within the top 2/3 out there (one of the least restrictive &, whilst it needs decent tim, is less dependent on exact mounting to get top notch performance)...

...&, having used 4 cpu blocks, 1 chipset block & 4 gfx card blocks from them (all copper/plexi), i've both never had any issues & have consistently had great results.
