Where can I get a hold of EL Sheet in the UK?
I've had a super idea for a product, but need to get a hold of EL In sheets at least 40" wide.

I did a quick search at the place where I got my EL Strips last (--here--) and all I could find were 4x6" for nearly 35USD... My dad knows of a place i think (Aircraft Spruce and Specialty maybe? ) but it is going to be MUCHO expensive for a sheet 40" wide... Could we see the idea that you have?

Ahh but that would be telling ;)

The only other way would be a LED lit diffused piece of acrylic, but that in itself poses problems.

RS Components still do it in assorted colours afaik.

But not in the sizes you are asking for though.

To get the size I want using multiple sheets, You're looking at ~£17 X 5, not cost effective... I'll have to experiment with white LED's, and frosted acrylic.

Darn right you will. 40" wide EL sheet is not only hard to get, it is prohibitively expensive. Not to mention the inverter you will need to drive all that.

I'd look at white CCFLs, else edge-lighting LED arrays (you can get 12 white LEDs mounted on a strip for about £15,--), else surplus TFT screen backlight panels (usually some kind of semi-reflective sheet with a CCFL built in the edge) which cost peanuts.
