I don’t know much about el wire but I was wondering if I could fit el wiring alongside the wires in each sleeve to make it glow. One question is would the inverter be powerful enough to power more than one line of el wire. I think it would be cool if the wires them selves actually glowed so I could have the ambient light in the case another color. Any light you guys can shine on the subject would rock. Thanks, Scotty
most inverters can only handle 2 items, ie two cathodes, el wires etc while it would be a sweet idea you would need a whole lot of el wire to succesfully light up all the wiring ( not to mention about 5 inverters that would push you psu)
I just found these. Think they would work? http://www.elwirecheap.com/15foin.html Secondly I have a 500w PSU, but if I needed more I might add a second psu. I got lots of them, lots of space in my case and I will want to add alot of extras. I dunno this is just what I think anyone else think it won't work?
Actually, while the inverter mostly only has one or two outputs, when it comes to EL sheet and wire, the driver is calculated for the area of EL that is to be illuminated, so cutting an EL wire into small pieces and illuminating every one of them is not a problem. If the driver (inverter) could handle the whole wire, it can handle the wire cut into small pieces.
