Been tracking this game as I have been known to play the odd RPG. The graphics are sweet, just can't seem to downlaod a movie trailer from there site.

I just got the game today. i am going to go home and play it, It looks sooo sweet though.

Managed to download the trailer from fileplanet. Just means another game I have to add to my wish list.

512Mb Kingmax RAM

Abit KT7A

Leadtek Ti4400

Windows XP Pro

I have the latest detonator drivers for the graphics and for the VIA chipset and have disabled 4 x AGP and fast writes in the BIOS.

The problem:

I have installed the game and where it asked me in the game to enter my name it crashes to the desktop, or worse still it reboots my machine. Can you advise me on my next step? My friend bought this with me and he is running Win2K and has had no problems?

I need to play this game and have only managed to install it, is there a patch or solution.

 

Try no cd cracking it, could be safedisk going *pop*

 

I'll give it a bash, sounds simple?

 

Well I tried the no CD switch err roo, no joy either?
Put my GF2 Ultra in no joy either?
Formatted and put Win2K back on no joy either?

Must be hardware?

This is the second RPG I've bought and had no joy with, Vampire Masquerade was the same.

 

Bizarre have you got any kind of 'odd' hardware like tv cards etc?
It might make a difference if you disable anything like that.

Or you could install win98 I bet it will work then

Got some new drivers and a couple of tweaks to try. The good thing is my modem has stopped dialing out?

Why do we bother and inflict this on ourselves?

Right, what did I do?

Fortissimo II

First I updated my soundcard drivers and disable my optical ports using a programme downloaded from the Hercules site.

Swap File

Increased the swap to a Gig.

Bios Settings

Enabled 4 x AGP and fast writes again, don't see why this should have to be turned for a game!

VIA Drivers

Updated with the latest drivers.


After I did that I scan disked just for good measure. And it all worked for me. I did go on the site forum to get some pointers and it seems to be a bit buggy and needs a little tinkering to get working.

All said and done I was gutted I missed the opportunity of some serious game play with the long weekend. But this game will be played long and hard for sometime to come.
