The page has been expanded to include simple electronic basics and goes on upto topics dealing with transistors and logic gates.

This section of the webpage will also have the following added as I get to it:

    Flip-flops
    Opamps
    Design considerations for inputs/outputs
    Communications
    Datasheet interpretations
What-ever-else I think will be necessary for the budding microcontroller newbie.

Remember: This is for Bit-tech people only. I make no money, sponsor no ads (except the counter), and advertise this to no one except you guys. Please take advantage of what little I know.

Criticism is wanted and expected. This means I would like the old-timers to verify my content, and new-timers to ask for improvements.

PS: The main apge will soon have HD44780 section and example code. Im waiting on parts to continue into the advanced peripherals. If you scrolled down the main banner, I have some more soda to drink............

All good stuff, goes straight into the Useful Links at Number 2 :thumb:

May be worth expanding the resistor section to include colour code and standard E12/E24 values, and on capacitors,
    expand on that, like 104 = 1-0-0000 pF = 100nF = 0.1uF

But that's just me in picky mode :naughty:

Yeah. Good catch. I thought about that while I was converting over to html, but forgot by the time I finsihed what I have.

The section will be in soon (resistor, capacitor, inductor color bands and more). The HD44780 is priority right now.

I also want to go farther into BJT transistors also, explain the effects of gain saturation, voltage levels, and how the 'predicted' voltage drops can change.

A little bit at a time, but it'll get there.

    Hi.

Not sure if this applies, but tips on things like soldering, useful tools to have etc would also be nice to n00bs.

I jumped into the sort of deep'ish end when i tried to create a PTM fan bus, following once of acrimonous's circuits. Having only changed my Power and HD Leds to blue as electronics and soldering experience, I found the Fan-bus a real challenge.

There are lots of guides about what different IC's do, pin layouts, etc., but for real n00bs, there isn't much about things like soldering(temps, different solders), using multi meter (or indeed how helpful one is), de-soldering (vital for ppl new to soldering), etc. Granted these aren't really hard topics, but for real beginners like me who don't know about electronics, they are god sends.
