    Hello everybody

Well, I have got to say that I didn’t really updated a lot on my last project.
For the people who don’t know me yet, I am Tom and I am 17 years old. I am a casemodder for 1,5 years now and my first mod was Helghan
I went to a big show with Helghan, I was nominated for The Benelux Casemod League.
    And … I got the first price !! :p

    Vakjury Casemods - Place 1:
Helghan door Tom Schouten a.k.a. Tomcatt
    [IMG]

Well, I didn’t expect first place so I was really happy
I went home with a lots of cool prices , so I was definitely sure to begin a new project.

As you can see, also I also got a new dremel ! :dremel:

So … here is an intro to my new project.

    “Elements of Fortune”

The whole concept is based upon a Wheel of Fortune slot machine.
I have never been to a casino before (because I’m only 17 lol) but I really liked the pictures.
I also used my creativity to design the back and inner of the case.
It is a huge case (about 2 meter … that’s like 7 feet if my calculator is correct)

These colors and looks are not the same as they are in my mind :D, so it will be more like this:

As you can see there will be a lot of lightning in the case. I hope I can manage that, because I don’t have much experience in electronics :p

    The bottom

This will be made of wood, I’m using 18mm MDF because the case has to be steady.
    Here are my first sketches:

    I didn’t want that !! xD
    So I made a new concept :D

    Oh, that’s a lot better now …
It is hard to explain, but there will be about 10 rafters made of plexi that will lighten up.
I also designed these struts, those will have blue lightning … or another color … I don’t really know yet :p

    http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x205/tomcat175/ELEMENTSOFFORTUNE/studs11.jpg

    The computer case

As you can see there will be a lot of place inside this box.
I’m going to try to make 2 custom reservoirs that will look like this:

And I’m going to watercool everything. But I don’t have a lot of money (I’m still a student :p )
so I’ll see what will happen with that.

    The spinners

    Payout !! :D
Well, I don’t have the skill of making this system work, but I promise I will do my best to make it work like a real slot machine

    The cooling

In this part of the case I want to put two 360Radiators with 6 FANs each. I’m going to make a console so I can control the speed (and noise) of the cooling.
Like the head I made in my last project ,Helghan, I have a special in this part of the case :D

    At last:

    The Wheel of fortune

My first plans where to make a very large fan at the backside. Well … there won’t be anything like that but I have found something else.
Here are some fast sketches I made at school.

    Well …
    This was my intro.
The whole concept may be overkill, but my plan is to put this case in a moddingshop so they can see what you can make with a creative mind :p
Good to know: I don’t have any expensive machines like CNC or a mill.
It is just a jigsaw another saw (Don’t know the name :p ), a dremel and maybe a table saw in the future.

Many thanks for reading !

    update 1

    The first update :)
I am going to start at the beginning of course.

I am going to begin on the upper side of the bottom.
I don’t have the wood for the lower side … but I’ll get that soon ;)

    I first made 2 boards.

And the other 2 :p There is a space of 10cm in between

I had to saw them with a 45° angle, so you don’t see the connections of the wood.

I used this thing to do that

I'm going to work very careful on this project: Like you can see in the link* ... The first boards need to be 36,4cm and the other ones are 10 cm more (so 46,4cm)
After that I had to stop because I was out of wood …
I only made lines where the plexi rafters would come.

I couldn’t stop modding, so I began with something new.
A lot of people make a mirror mod in the bottom of their case … (http://www.casejunkies.com/images/artikel_upload/picture_6093.jpg)
    I wanted something special …
Here is a sheet of plexi:

And that … is the bottom of a very big reservoir that will take place in the bottom of the case ;)
I made the sides of the reservoir

And that’s it for the first update ^^
The meaning of the reservoir is that there will be some cogs and gears that will make the water moving. I’m going to use UV-LED lightning to give it a cool effect.

    Cheers
    Tomcatt

Indeed, can't wait to see it happen.
I know a lot of slot machines nowadays use digital screens instead of the spinning wheels, so if you need to make it easier on yourself, you might just emulate the spinning wheels that way.

Congratulations on winning the contest, and all that cool new stuff! :D

That is a LOT of stuff to be won from a case modding competition! I wish we had such here up north, prizes here don't really motivate anyone. :(

And this should turn out nice, keeping an eye on it!

As always … it has been a long time since I posted here.
Well… I still worked on the project.

First … I sketched some waterblocks that I’ll maybe use in this mod.

    And… I bought a new tool ! :p

    Working on the construction:

    The red plate
    [IMG]

In wood … it looks like this :p

I’m going to make it a very strong bottom, so another sheet of wood is attached.

Because it is a large and heavy case, I’ll make some wheels under it.

First saw some wood because the wheels won’t touch the ground without those.

    This is the meaning:

    I made some holes

I still need to shorten the bolts. :p

After this, I began working on the studs that will be placed at the bottom of the slotmachine.

I need 18 studs like these

1 stud is made of 4 aluminum parts, and 2 Plexiglas parts.
I need 18 studs in total
    So … I need 72 alu parts, and 36 Plexiglas parts :p

This is the sheet of alu

I still have to make a lot like those :D

I also finished the plexi reservoir that will be placed in the bottom (instead of a mirror mod or something)
It won’t be used for the actual watercooling setup … just eye-candy ;)

At last: I redesigned the model with new dimensions in Sketchup™

Thx for watching, Comments , critics and thread rates are welcome :p :D

You're on the right track I think, great work so far.
I was very pleased to share the first place with you, but I was the winner of the caseconstructions.

    Keep on going mate:thumb:

On this moment I have some problems with the reservoir that will take place in the bottom.
hmm ... guess I have to get another kind of glue :)

    Hello

I took another kind of nut for the wheels

And I made a strong frame so I don’t have to worry about damaging it.

Here is the bottom panel again, I also made this one stronger with another sheet of wood.

    The first sidepanel

I made these wholes because … well it will be a little bit lighter. Although the construction weights tons

    :p[IMG]

In the final result, you will not see this wooden panel because the outside will be Plexiglas, and the inner side will be made of aluminum.
To attach the Plexiglas to the wooden panel , I use these bolts.

Here you see the plexi reservoir.

    The backpanel for the motherboard.

The Plexiglas reservoir will not be used in the watercooling circuit. It’s just eye candy.

    Thx for reading :)
