The Rhino seems very popular. A friend a mine was debating late last year whether to go for the X52 Pro (I use) or X55. He ended up buying the x52 pro.

X-55 is nicer looking. I've never had an issue with a Saitek and I have used them going back to the first analog Hotas using the old D-connector.

Yeah the X55 is very good but I have had to screw mine to my desk because although it looks heavy and like it, wouldn't move around I found it does move around alot when you are in combat.

It got some use the other night, whilst me and the fellow Nuts-ED wing broke the galactic record for the highest single trade profit at over 72 million credits for a single trade

There may or may not be a 4K video currently in the works

Are you pushing the stick hard during combat? I'm not sure of the weight difference between X52 Pro versus X55. I will take a look. I'm not using the suction cups with my unit but I never push the stick with any force that would cause it to lift. Reason I ask is because I know of at least one Frontier player who gets very nervous during combat and in his own words is "heavy handed" with his Hotas. The topic of discussion was Hotas reliability.

I wouldn't say I was pushing/pulling hard on it to manuvor the ships around I just find it lifts at the front quite abit, so I have put 2 screws in the throttle and joystick and now I can be as gentle or hard on the joystick as I want as the base just does not move anymore.

As for the record, the Nuts Wing are about to break our own record so there will now have to be new video work done :wallbash:

The downtime though annoying, has given a benefit as you get a 20% buff on mission payouts, combat bonds and bounties at the moment, I think till Monday.

Good boy. I was searching for information (just out of curiosity) on the X-55 weight and not one site mentions it as far as I can see. I'm just wondering if it's a similar weight to the X-52 pro. I do lift the throttle off the desk by accident once in a while. I should attach the suction cups again. Lazy.

Just got interdicted by an NPC - managed to escape - then by a player while I was probably around 2 seconds from safe exit from supercruise - and I didn't manage to escape this time. They had a vastly superior ship to mine and my shields were gone in mere moments, as was I.

I wasn't wanted, I am still just flying a sidewinder so it's not like I was carrying anything, and I was just trying to land so I could log off. I had a 13k bounty I just lost too.

I thought piracy was supposed to be punished?

I'd join the mobius group till you're out of the starting systems.

The starting areas seem to be full of douche bags who like to pick on new players. They will get a bounty that they can't pay off for a week, but will only show as wanted in that system.

What is the "mobius group"? That's a part of ED I haven't run into yet.

I'm sticking with solo play until I can leave the area I think. It's not like there's any real advantage to being in open play.

I just outitted an Eagle. Three gimballed pulse lasers, 3C power plant, 3D FSD and upgraded the cargo bay from 1C to 2C so I can carry 4T in it. Faster and meaner than the Sidewinder and I can finally jump to GD 219 for high tech components and ~30k trading missions in 4 jumps or so opposed to ~mid 30s.

Edit: Just ordered a Thrustmaster HOTAS X. Hopefully this will make me more leet.

It's a PvE group, they work on honour since there is no difference what the game will let you do, I've never had issues though.

Mobius sounds good, may have to try it.

Just got an 82k bounty after flying around Eravate / Potriti / LHS3447 Nav Beacons, also picked up 18k in two other small bounties.

Have blown it all on better power distribution to reduce the laser recharge.

So I have a question. Say let's assume I sell a 3D thruster and fit 2C - so better but smaller - then swap the cargo unit and the thruster, and upgrading the cargo unit to 3E to leverage extra cargo. All this ought to JUST squeeze inside the mass limit on the thruster.

Is there really a reason why this doesn't work except it lowers the mass limit and thus limits the modules you can fit?

Just looking to understand outfitting better: this is an eagle, going from 4T to 8T cargo isn't going to help much. I'll be buying a fitting a hauler soon, no doubt.

Edit: answered my own question by reading stats more carefully. Optimal mass is critical here not peak. the 2C thruster's optimal mass is something like 66 with peak 90. That means I'm going to be fat and heavy just within the limit. If I needed a smaller hauler with teeth this'd work, but the Eagle is a fighter and it needs the bigger thrusters for mass acceleration.

I've tweaked a lot of E systems to D systems. Very cheap upgrades but drop mass considerably and benefit in other ways. Be nice to try the Eagle again another day and see how it compares with the basic upgrades done.

No reason it can't work, just remember that all thrusters have an Optimum Mass and a Minimum Mass rating

You can't fit thrusters below the minimum mass, you can fit thrusters with optimum mass rating below the mass of your ship, but this will make your ship accelerate and turn like a brick in treacle.

Sadly there don't seem to be many benefits for over thrusting a ship. I would like my vulture to be even faster turning. Also, beware class D power plants, they are very bad at absorbing your ship's heat!

If you have a target and you get into the system, he appears and you get close, how do you drop out of hyper speed to attack him, how do you intercept a target which is in hypercruse etc?

Well I've been playing on MOBIUS and I ran into some kind soul in a Python. He then randomly found another player in an Asp. We did bounty hunting for a couple hours in a couple of his favourite spots and I took home 1.4mil.

I now have a moderately specced out Cobra MK3! Looking forward to giving it a try soon.

I have started doing Powerplay the last couple of weeks.

Got 50 million credits coming my way on Thursday this week, and also once I have finished getting my merits this week I am going to start doing bounty hunting, as any applicable bounties will be worth apparently 240% so the money will just rack up.

In a few weeks I will have a Cutter kitted out for trading and I will start bringing in the big credits with slave trading.
