Multi Elite - Dangerous by David Braben

Elite's repetitive nature is seeping into your very existence!

 

OMG now I am reading double the replies! :S

 

And these are why I'm only bothering to get on it for a couple hours a week.

 

It does get repetitive but to be honest, there are only so many things you can do in this game at the moment as not all content has been released.

Powerplay is boring but on the plus side to it, I have up to now got over 150 million credits for around 16 hours of gameplay each week for the past 3 weeks, and then on top of that I can go bounty hunting and get around 240% bounties.

 

Didn't realize this thread exist. Commander Davadin in-game.

I'm fairly new. Maybe about 120-150hr over the past month. Been enjoying everything. Too much stuff to do. Places to explore. Things to try.

Got a Vulture for going pew pew. T6 for moving those illegal stuff. And a Cobra to mine. No time so far with PowerPlay, just hitting r2. Community goal is fun, which is why I whip out my Cobra again this week.

I know. First time I arrived at Varati (with empy cargo) another commander indict'd me and before I can gasp for air, I'm rip to shred by rail guns....

 

Mobius private group has no asshole gankers. Been enjoying it greatly.

 

Getting bored now of the Power Play that I am currently doing as I don't like the Imperial Hammers, so going to get the 50 million credits on Thursday and do the bounty hunting for 1 more week and then I am going to switch, to the Power that will give me the Prismatic Shields.

It only takes Rank 3 for 4 weeks to unlock them, so I will be grabbing some of them for each of my ships.

I did make a mistake though the other day, and went to buy a Anaconda and forgot to store my FDL and ended up selling it instead noob mistake.

 

I'm still workin on my Fed PP..... spent 2 hour on a expansion war zone and got..... 350 merits??

meh....

it only has Vipers (and the rare python) to shoot down. maybe next time i'll look for more "intense" war zone.

 

Have a look on Redit to see if someone has started a PowerPlay thing for that Power which is what I will do, and then find which minor factions to interdict and then interdict them in a anarchy system so, you don't get bounties or fines on you destroy them and you 30 points per kill.

I did it for Arissa Lavigny-Duval in Othime and interdicted Federal Logistics, Federal Agents, Kumo Crew Watch, Utopian Overseer, Sirius Security and I cannot remember the other one but each one of them gave 30 points per kill, and didn't get any bounties against me and on the Kumo and Utopian ships I used a Kill Warrant Scanner and normally got a bounty credit award for killing them.

I then turned in the points at LHS 1852 and each time I turned in around 1000 merits I think I got like 100,000 credits as well.

When I switch to Aisling Duval, I will see if that still works and if it does then I am sorted for getting rank 3 each week to get the Prismatics and then once I have them I am pretty much sorted and then can focus on getting the Elite ranks for each part.

I'm thinking about getting Elite. What are the thoughts on content right now? Cursory look at reviews imply that there isn't enough to the game to make it worthwhile....?

 

If your Paying 10 quid an expansion it might make it less of a sting but content wise the game is a bit limp still. Even when a new 'season' is released, it's not much upfront content, just upfront payment for content to be provided over the course of the season.

It obviously floats some peoples boats but I found it very repetitive after the 30 hour mark. It's been turned into an MMO light but without all the things that make an MMO compelling.

Maybe if your bored and have no other games on the go at the moment? Or can get it cheap enough so that if you dislike it, it's not £30-40 wasted?
