I've just upgraded to get beta access. Seems like the real deal so far, I'm loving it.

So I did it, beta and lifetime pass ordered! It is elite afterall!

Ahh many an hour spent on my BBC Model B playing elite. More hours on my IBM PS2 playing Frontier. And finally hours of fustration attempting to play first encounters....

Me thinks there is a very expensive PC upgrade coming soon (TM)

    Nice!

You get access to the single player missions right away, just login to the Elite site and download the client. Bit Sec meeting on the 30th (Wednesday night) on teamspeak if you are about.

Now added one of these to the mix on top of the Beta and liftime DLC pass.......

It's getting pricey but like nimbu said It is Elite after all.....

Just got to re-learn the game with a stick now after completing the missions using keyboard and mouse :thumb:

I enjoyed using the keyboard and mouse for trading but I can't say it works for combat.

Would you say the T-16000 is better than the HOTAS?

Better than the T-Flight HOTAS X? I'm just asking because that stands for Hands On Throttle And Stick, so refers to any joystick with a separate throttle.

From what I hear, the T-16000 is the 'best' basic joystick due to its hall sensors, which are only found in more expensive joysticks, and give the best accuracy (until you spend hundreds)

This may help you research Pieface:

I have a Black Widow myself; used it for the past 12 months or so and it's been great for a cheap stick. I'd like a full HOTAS set up but I don't want to give up that amount of desk space for it.

I may look to mount my monitors in the future to accommodate one but I'll see how it goes.

Yeah I've tried my 360 pad but it didn't feel right; saying that I didn't try and reconfigure it which would no doubt go a long way.

I'm not much of a gamer, these days, but I got the lifetime expansion pack.

    Why? Because ELITE. :)

I can't decide. Most of the things its offering, I'm not much of a fan of, as games dedicated to running round on space stations/planets will likely do it better.

Ordered the T-16000M from Dabs, when it stated they still had stock. Checked my order today and saying it will be delayed as waiting for stock from supplier. Not happy :(

Its starting to look like stocks are low on nearly all popular joysticks!

Scan have it for £35 too, with stock due today - that said, not sure that can be trusted
