Right my eMac keeps freezing at any given moment, but USUALLY when there a few applications running at the one time. If I backed up all my files etc and restored the drive will this fix the problem? or if i reformatted it and reinstalled osx tiger? would any of this help? cheers lewis
Doubt it, as they haven't been produced for years. I'd check the volume with Disk Utility and see if it shows any errors (and repair them if there are, of course). Do you mean a total lock-up or just a slow-down? If it's not a software issue, it's probably something to do with ram - a lock-up is probably from bad ram, whereas slowdowns are just from not having enough.
yeah it total freezes and you can't do anything but move the mouse. I'v tried repairing the drive via disk utility, checked the permissions too but everything is fine. and I bought it in 2004/05 lewis
