Email scammer jailed

I'm sure a lot of you have received that email about helping some guy transfer millions of dollars from Africa promising you a generous share of the money. Well the guy responsible's been locked up:


Peter Okoeguale, 33, was jailed for 20 months for his part in the e-mail fraud, also known as the Nigerian 419 scam.

Caernarfon Crown Court heard victims are promised a share of cash if they help with the movement of millions of dollars out of Africa.

But they are then duped into handing over cash themselves to overcome an unforeseen difficulty.

The prosecution said when Okoeguale was arrested he had floppy disks which could scan websites for e-mail addresses and for sending "spam" messages.

thats just one guy out of 1000s who do this stuff.

yeah, but it is a deterrant isnt it when they know something really is being done, they might stop !

 

ya I noticed all the drug dealers stoped to when joe blow got busted down the street.....opps no they didnt 3 more just came on the block and took his place.

 

yeah, i guess your right, i know when someone gets busted for doing something, it makes me just wanna do it all that more [/sarcasm].
