OK, quick bit of help needed chaps.

I want a new pair of glasses. As in, real spectacles, for eyesight. I want some fantastically clich-ay-ed black emo types - you know, wide rims, chunky arms etc. Any ideas as to makes / models / places to get?

Philippe starck Does a good range of this kinda thing.
Also D&G do some pretty chunky frames.

You gotta go to specsavers of course :p I think they do D&G there, not sure where you'd find Some Philippe Starck frames tho. :)

But I agree I like the ones you hav now.

    e·mo·tive

    1. Of or relating to emotion: the emotive aspect of symbols.
    2. Characterized by, expressing, or exciting emotion: an emotive trial lawyer; the emotive issue of gun control.

    Nope. Emotional

On subject: D&G, my housemates had a pair of theirs that are 'emo' for years now.

Got those from vision express a couple of years ago. Black on the outside, leopard print on the inside.

I wear contacts now though, had too many glasses get broken at gigs (not emo gigs, mind..).

i've had experience of all types of contact lenses over the years - started with the yearly "hard" lenses, moved on to monthly soft lenses, am now on dailys. hard lenses are really uncomfortable for AGES, and even when you're used to them are still not great, monthlys are really comfortable but still needed cleaning, which I, as a lazy person, didn't really like. Dailys are very very comfortable but a bit more expensive. For me dailys are the best, but generally the consensus is that monthly lenses give the best balance.

    So... What is an Emo?

Can someone define one to me please?

The general idea I get... Skateboards, rock, gigs, thick glasses, cam whoreing, writing poems about death whilst in a cemetery

Someone put me on the straight path

Contacts are great in some ways but can be a pain in the arse some times.

They're great because they are clearer, don't get dirty or scratches, don't fall off. Perfect for gigs too.

They can get annoying though, I find they make me feel tired if they have been in too long and they get itchy. Alos no good if you have an eye infection or what not.

BTW mine are £12 p/m form Specsavers.

    - Emo is a sub genre of punk music, it gets its name from the music being about emotional thigns (but only negitive emotions mind you like sadness etc.)

    - Emo is also a fashion (of which thick black/horn rimmed glasses are a part of) http://www.dobi.nu/emo/

Simlar to goth in manyways but more punk

its very popular atm and theres alot of wannabe 'emo kids' around
