Now i never really thought there was that much of a problem drinking 4-5 energy drinks (red bull or equivalent) but right now my left arm wont stop shaking. The whole reason i'm up on caffeine is so i can concentrate on dissertation but now i cant type due to my left arm being useless. I can only assume its the drink because it the only thing different to normal.
See a doctor, caffeine ups your heart rate and your left arm is closest to your heart. This could be a heart issue.
While it is an issue, if you need to stay up and buzzing off your whatnots on caffeine, 24 proplus, bottle of lucozade (500ml) and a straw... also mints and gum would be advised... crush up proplus best you can... put into bottle of lucozade... (have a mouthful out of it first, it helps).... shake, open squeze off the crap, repeat until done... (optional add crushed up lucozade tablets and shake well) insert straw into bottle and flip the mouth bit downwards the bottle (y'know.. to chug it) Chug. Eat mints... it tastes fricking foul. but you will be awake ... very very awake.
I'm 21 so i doubt my heart is dying on me. At least i hope not. Maybe if it does it without me drinking a large amount of crap. Anyway the shaking has since stopped after i watched a couple of south parks. TBH i actually got more work done today than the previous 3 days so i think it may have been worth it. That proplus plan sounds.........well tbh rather extreme. Extreme but fun.
if you know how to read, it says on the can, in big and bold, DO NOT DRINK MORE THEN 2 CANS Drink A LOT of Water, caffeines dehydrates you. Your work may be done, but is it.... quality work?
Oh and other alternative... go to poundland and buy a 1liter bottle of Red Rooster... and do as with the Lucozade... It's fun, but after 2 all nighters on the stuff I was standing on my bed bouncing with my heart literally vibrating out of my chest... then I layed down and within 20 seconds I was asleep for about a day. Has it's uses heh
Red Bull + Red Rooster + Coke Cola = bouncers thinking im on drugs. Still fun getting off your tits on caffine! I've got so screwed up on caffine before its great! Regards GiGo
After 416.16 cans of Dr Pepper, you'd be pushing up daisies. ... to be quite honest I'm more likely to croak from the electrolite imballance... and quite likely perminant toilet vacationing... I mean come on... who can seriously injest 137Litres besides some random elephant.
Depends on the nature of the shaking, which is called "essential tremor" by the way. If it occurs in other parts of your body (legs, eye lids etc.) You could be: 1. overdosing on caffeine; 2. withdrawing from caffeine; 3. experiencing referred motor symptoms from sitting in a bad posture at your desk for long hours. Do you happen to have a stiff neck? 4. experiencing fatigue/stress symptoms. My suggestion: cut out the caffeine, drink lots of fluids, take a break from your dissertation and have a good night's sleep. Alcohol helps too, but I would not advise that right now unless you want to crash big time and be no good for the next few days. If the tremor limits itself to your left arm and persists over the next days or gets worse, it's time to consult the doctor.
I experienced something similar once, I lost control of my entire right arm, it just went dead. It turned out that I had had a bad reaction to red ginseng. The doctor asked me if I had been able to urinate since the symptoms started and I hadn't. He made me drink some pepto bismal and drink a ton of water and I was fine. If it persists go to the doctor.
Sorted. Although, like you, I have a tendency to do my best work under pressure, I have always found that it is a delicate balance and you can push yourself a bit too far.
Yeah i have a strict regime of breaks now for a quick CS gungame and forum browsing. I basically worked for 12hours straight only leaving to pick up pizza from the door yesterday which in hindsight was a little bit silly . I always tend to write better after 9pm and i thought the caffeine would help but think i'll stick to loud techno instead.
Actually, 300 to 400 cans will do it. The LD50 (Lethal Dose for 50% of the subjects) is about 150 to 200 mg per kilo body mass. For an average-size 84 Kg adult that is 12.6 to 16.8 grammes. A can of Dr. Pepper (regular or diet) contains 42 mg of cafeine. So depending on weight and tolerance, you'd need to chug down about 300 to 400 of those bad boys to have a 50% chance of doing yourself in. A good cup of coffee, by the way, contains 135 mg, the equivalent of two tablets of Excedrin. Why bother with pills...
True, but the liquid taken in is way more than enough to make up for that, unless you have serious issues with diruetics that is. The whole "caffeine dehydrates" you thing has lead to people thinking that drinking coffee or tea makes your body need more water than not doing it all. Which is of course rubbish. And Nexxo, people bother will pills because most people don't drink real coffee. They'll have a cup of instant or some frappawankachino thing from Starhell, but won't make anything that actually has enough coffee and taste in it to contain 135mg of caffeine. Plus, taking a strip of pro plus is faster than drinking 8 cups of coffee. Btw Nexxo, this is off topic, but are you familiar with RD-50's and if so, would you be able to explain why that's become the dominant way of measuring toxicity when LD-50 seems to be so much more useful?(the net's been useless on this).
