There is some evidence to suggest that kids who grow up bilingual actually do better in the long run, for a given value of better. Of course, it's all statistics and such, but there you go. If I learned anything growing up surrounded by educators, I would say that parental interest and support in education is more important than whether or not the child speaks fluent English. My boss was born to a German woman and Italian man in Mexico. He didn't come to the US until he was in his 20s, and he's made quite a career - we often joke that the Dos Equis "Most Interesting Man in the World" character is based on his life. I think this stems from the fact that in most debates in the past, nexxo is the one who finds the flaw in the thinking and presents it in a way that is very hard to create a retort.
England (and I'm born and living in england) is stupid indeed. Both for being retards on benefit system, the way the pound was handled for the upcoming recession, immigration system and of course it's biased hand on political correctness. In England from the media prospective etc whites = racism to black, if it be a white person attacks a black person. A white person says anything relating to black etc which has caught on so that everyone seems to be sensitive about it, so that for some black people It has become an excuse - "It's because I'm black!" because people are saying it is. Now anything remotely referring to black people can be racist. Yet white people taking abuse from black is considered silly, or out of the question. When quite simply yes, both do happen. However in terms of how it used to be.. racism isn't part of the equation most of the time, It's just thrown in there for the sake of it or just expected to be there. Things like this inspire the opposite end of the scale people from the BNP extremist to come out. When to me there nothing more than white football hooligans’ which are retarded starting fights over football groups, alcoholics, bums etc etc. Racist? no of course not, I'm saying there personality is bad and there life style. And then Am I being racist if I say that most black kids-teenagers are arrogant, threatening etc..? no It's because of the attitude of the ones who seem to take on the role of this G star aka gangster approach from all rap music provides.. which involves objectifying women, guns and crime are the way to go to get rich and have "bling" and respect, and that there masculine if they have big muscles. It's just a constant fight to prove there masculinity. So yes I find England quite retarded in a heck of a lot of cases - but heck, that’s the way it's run etc, I'm not talking about the landscapes, the british flag, the buildings. Just as I'm not talking about the skin colour, sex, or look of black or white people, Its the PEOPLE inside that counts and that choose to separate themselves in different life styles that can be branded. Also in terms of history, yes whites where horrible to blacks in africa etc. However that was older genorations history, that isn't what I did, it didn't happen to more present day genoration of black people so it can't be brought into the equation. Then in terms of culture, immigrating to another country and you should respect it. If it be there language, there beliefs, there celebrations etc. An immigrant should adapt. That works for both ways. Its just british nanny state not knowing where to draw the line and stick to it that causes most of this.
in this country we take civil and human rights pretty seriously, in fact we're pretty much one of the only countries that even attempts to follow up on its promises made after WWII, surely this is a good thing? ok so there are side effects but at least we try. Also if you look closely i think you'll find that a lot of the kids wearing B-boy hats and G-Star hoodies are actually middle class and white. Hip-hop and gangster culture has found its way into the mainstream, rather like heavy metal in the 80's and i think its affects are pretty much multi-racial.
Really? Ive seen the police reports on the news and things where young Brittish muslims attack white people in racist attacks (and the other way around). Ive also seen white kids who listen to the same music and act in the exact same way. England is not stupid as you put it, at least not for the reasons you give, most of this attitude that we're going down the plug hole is just what the tabloid newspapers put out to sell papers. On the way the pound was handled in the recession, im not sure what you mean, if you mean the econemy, all i can say is look at iceland, use along with america were at the centre of the current downturn, but that wasn't because england is stupid, it is because of the culture of banks on both sides of the atlantic to make quick profits without caring about the future, and also for the average comsumer who got into as much debt as possible without caring about paying it back (where as im on the other end of the scale, not even wanting to be stuck with tuition fee's so going to work in a slaughter house for 2 years to save up, only to me made redundent). On the topic of our "stupid" benefits system, yes there are cheats and dossers, but there are also people in serious need that through no fault of there own have been made redundent, or disabled and unable to work, i don't see why this majority should be penalised for the few that decide they don't want to work (i might have to sign on soon having been jobless for almost a year). Immigration, although im sure some peoples jobs are lost to foreign workers, the majority don't want these jobs, and if they bring there family over to settle then bonus for us, as all the money they generate through work will stay in this country and not be sent abroad to families, then tax gets paid on the goods they buy as well as from there jobs, and there kids will be brought up to work hard and will contribute to the economy and our country more than some chav kids who's parents can be traced back to this country through 100 years will ever be able to contribute. Contrary to popular belief, they don't take all our jobs then claim jobseekers allowence at the same time, they came here to work and make a better life for themselves. England is not stupid, we have more than our fair share of chavs and people who abuse the system, but thats because our system cares about its citizens and won't leave them to die in the gutter. Perhaps I simply don't feel the need to defend myself on size. I found my response much less eloquent than that of the others. Mine was more of a "Oh, FFS" response than a thoroughly reasoned argument. But I sort of felt that's all it deserved.

In the UK black slavery ended 200 years ago: eight (count them) generations. In the US it was 150 years ago; six generations. The repercussions of that history are still as prevalent as that of colonialism: why do you think there are so many black and Asian people in the UK again? It's all too complex to push the reset button and argue that it doesn't matter in today's society. Hearing someone put it across the way the OP did though, made it sound just plain wrong! So although I may share slightly watered down sentiments with the OP, he could have expressed his opinion much better than he did. I think there is just as much racism towards whites from ethnic communities as there is from whites towards these communities. But this is the side of the coin that we very often hear very little about.
Yes, you are being racist. Because you're stereotyping people because of their skin colour. There's no evidence at all to prove that "most black kids-teenagers" listen to rap music (which in any case is not all about guns, gangsters and hoes, but that's a discussion for another topic), carry guns and are criminals. Yet you say most black teenagers are arrogant and threatening because of this. White teenagers listen to rap music too. White teens commit crimes. White teens carry offensive weapons, they act arrogantly and threateningly. Same with asian teens, oriental teens, any other racial group of teens. It's not about race, it's about the culture they identify with and uphold, which is nothing to do with their race. So, to repeat my answer to you question, yes, you are being racist in that statement.
