BS, his foot was up and his leg was in. If anything it was a blade of grass but you give advantage to the attacking side - just like the ref gave to SA a few moments later.

    Ban Steve ++

    Just for being Scottish :p

I think we were robbed of that try but overall i think South Africa deserved it, they were the better side imo.

Course, as usual the biased fans know more than a professional referee.

QFT. England don't play rugby, they just try not to get Johnny Wilco not to badly beaten up so he can be in dropkick heaven!

I'm sorry if England fans are disappointed, but come on! If you want to take on some the best teams in the world then you need to at least pick your game up a bit! And by that I don't mean giving Mr. Wilkinson the ball more often so he can dropkick the ball a bit more!

    /bile.

In my normal, un-anti England mode, I am still glad England got beaten, as it follows the whole "anyone but England" thing that my family, most of my friends and pretty much the entire country follows!

But yes, that call was a bit erm.... risqué

Just glad the World Cup is over so we can take the ruddy England shirt off the mannequin at work! That's been riling us all up for the last three weeks! We live in Wales, and yet we have to put English shirts on mannequins at work! That's like saying "Yes, thats right, we really are all England fans!" when we erm... aren't.

    /bile some more.

    Joe

Don't get me wrong - I wanted England to win, but it wasn't a try. His knee was definitely in-touch before he grounded the ball.
But hey, second in the world is still a bloody good effort considering the state of the team a few weeks ago.

Hehe, it deffo wasn't a try, as the pic above proves.
I kinda wish it was, then we wouldn't hear the 'we was robbed' sob stories.
I think SA would still have won but it would've been a much more interesting match to watch for everyone.

And its no good blaming the ref.
He was only going on what the video ref said and as the pic shows, it wasn't a try.

The main reason I'm glad England didn't win is that we'd never have heard the end of it.
First team to do the double etc etc.

I nearly got the crap beaten out of me tonight by drunk England fans, really should have taken my SA shirt off before I went to get more beer.

    Go SA!

Probably part time fans, you know the ones who crawl out the woodwork when ever they are at the final of a big match. Like the cricket a few years ago. Honestly never had any trouble with actual rugby fans, its just a more civilized sport.

QFT. The Yobbos and so on for any sport always come out near finals and big matches just because they look for fights. It's actually why I love Rugby over football. If one player fouls another in football then it's swearing, shouting screaming, stabbing after the match and the players all flying kicking each other and fighting. In Rugby, massive guys tackle each other quite painfully but if someone fouls then 9/10 they get up, help the other guy up, listen to the ref and get on with the game. Even when they disagree with the Ref it tends not to be a big deal. Like tonight, world cup final, try for the losing team is disallowed and the england captain insists it must have been a try for a minute or two, the ref says no, nevermind, on with the game, well played SA.

That's why Rugby is the real english gentlemans sport. Football is the inheritence of chavs like rooney.

Wasn't a very good game was it...

Its a much better night out than a football game though. All the chav's go in to hiding.
