    Hey
Bit of an odd request. I have a first level university French final tonight and I would really like it if someone could translate this small passage below, it only has to be 50 words. Thanks very much in advance!

This summer is going to be great! I am going to work at BDI for three months. When I finished exam I won't have to listen to people yell "Do your homework!" In between work I want to travel, hike, swim, and do photography. After summer I am going back to school in St. John's to complete a business degree. I just finished my exam.

I realize the sentences are short and choppy. I really don't know what to write about when it comes to summer, in French at least. And could someone translate this themselves and not using a translator online? Thanks again!

can I ask why you can't do it yourself? (not being rude) it seems a bit of a cop out, us doing the work for you?!

I can't help by the way, I've never done French in my life.

I can do most of it I just wanted to see how to do it properly. And for any bilingual person it should be easy. I am not trying to be a slacker, I had one final today and two tomorrow and this would just chop 20 minutes of stuff to do off of my study list. Sorry if I seem slack.

It does take a lot of time to translate... here is my short version of your text above.

Cet été va être excitant! Je vais travailler à la BDI pour trois mois. Quand j'aurai terminé mes examens (do you mean your exams?! that is what I said in French) je n'aurai plus à écouter les personnes autour de moi me crier «Fait tes devoirs! » Durant mes vacances à mon futur travail, (do you mean your future job?! You have to be specific in French, anyway that is what I said) je voudrais voyager partout et faire plusieurs randonnées pédestre, de nager (where… it sounds empty in french), et prendre des photos partout où je vais (I just said that you would like to take to hike, swim, and take pictures everywhere I (you) go).....

Translation of what I type back to English:
This summer will be exiting! I will work at BDI for 3 months. When I’ll be done with my exams I will not hear people around me tell me “Do your homework!” During my vacation at my future job, I would like to travel everywhere and do several hiking expeditions at foot, swimming, and take pictures everywhere I go…..

It's been sometime I did not write in French, so make sure the grammar is fine, same for the verbs. Yea, I know French grammar is super complex, and FACT: every grammar rule has exceptions, if I am not mistaken.
Also note, that although French is my first language, it was never my fortee. So don't copy and paste!

Would this be correct, minus the fact there are no accents "Apres ete je vais l’ecole a St. Johns pour un commerce. Je vien finir mon examen."

Thank you very much for posting Bytes

    "Je viens de finir"
Also "je vais l'ecole" isn't in any future tense. Use either "J'irai" or "Je vais aller" and then "a l'ecole St John's"

:hehe: Sorry, but I think you're slacking a bit, not to mention cheating yourself. If you could do most of it, why not post the work you did do and ask for someone to look it over to check for mistakes? Just asking for someone else to do it for you smacks of laziness.

Also, if you're concerned about wasting time on translations when you could be studying for your other exams, I would recommend turning off the computer. :p

Good luck on the other tests.

Ok maybe I am slacking a bit. I am not going to do another French course, the last French class I did was 7 years ago and I thought I would do one for old time sakes. It is drastically affecting my overall average and I'm just having a hard time trying to memorize all of the grammar rules, verbs, and vocab required.

And yes Monkey the computer is going off. I was periodically checking back and forth to see if anyone posted. I thank you all for your help with this.
    Cheers,
    -aaron

Do not revive old posts! By the way this is very badly translated. If I was a French teacher that would be a big 0.
English IS NOT like French. In French, they are MANY exceptions in the grammar, and has a more complex conjugation. How complex the grammar is? For one, the French language grammar has an exception for every rule, without exception! oh heuuu... well except for this grammar rule statement, hehe.
