Chauvinism (pronounced /ˈʃoʊvɨnɪzəm/) is extreme and unreasoning partisanship on behalf of a group to which one belongs, especially when the partisanship includes malice and hatred towards a rival group. Or, just for the sake of being un-American, spread-eagleism.
I didn't think such a thing existed. You are clearly at a decent uni which you can be proud of being a part of and not a half baked excuse for an education institution. God damn my A-level slacking and as such i will suggest "misplaced"
Partisanship. To show dedication and appreciation to the destination for your education. Celebration! All across the nation! Ok, it means to take pride in your conglomerate/party/institution/etc. At least that is how I have been using it to this point. The dictionary.com definition is a bit suspect to me, but, I can assure you it's the word you are looking for.
