Damn, nice. And props on the Rei engraving.

Just wondering though, what kind of Dremel bits are you using for engraving?

I exclusively use those types of bits for doing metal engravings, and as some people have asked i´ll clarify again why.

When you engrave for example plastic, you need to use a cutting head bit because otherwise the plastic would just melt and cover the bit your using.

When it comes to aluminium and the likes you need to use a bit that basically sands away the paint/aluminium , if you use an cutting head bit on metal you´ll end up with shrapnel in your head and you´ll be forbidden from taking mri´s :p

Will try to update alittle tomorrow.

My computer decided to mess with me and screw up the password so i had to sit with that fiddling for 2 hours -.-

And the weekend consisted of sleeping and rpgs :)

Man those look great! I swore of using dremels in mods about 2 years ago.. but I may renig on that. Though tell me, is your one of those annoying new style that locks when cutting tough material ( specifically 1/4th inch polycarbonate), though I think that may be because I got a cordless one... Too many irons in the fire, but this may be the exact style of mod I want for my laptop!

    Thanks,

Well i dont really use mine to cut much (not cut plastics with it in 4 years time) But it can lock up when cutting aluminium tho not as usual as you make it sound.

Regarding your laptop, i hope its a metallic chassi your engraving as doing it on plastic would mess up the lid mostly.

Will you spray on any clear coat to prevent the bare metal from oxidizing?

Clearcoating it is not something im planning on doing at this stage, as i´ve done a few engravings and the oldest one has not started oxidising yet (a few months later) so i dont believe this to be a problem.

But if there is a need for it i´ll probably end up masking non engraved areas and then running a clearcoat over it with a airbrush.

I have been putting the engraving off for too long, so today, updates time !

I started by venting frustration, obviously the best bit of kit to sort this was assembling an ikea cabinet.

I gave up on finishing it when the second screw didnt wanna get a grip in the door.

With that "finished" i started the engraving.

I´ve started filling in the thighs and thats almost finished, next part to be worked on is the shirt, and maybe give the hair a bit of shine...

Top priority will be to finish Samus asap. will be weaving in finishing samus with the HOTD engraving as there`s not much left on it.

Taking my friends Sidepanel for tifa engraving once above 2 things are done.

Engraving a external drive for a friend once she buys it.

And Doing a sponsor engraving for a Modder on the swedish moddingforum im a poster on.
(In the works, just waiting for an answer on timeframe from them, then il have it sent over to me)
And it will be the first perspex engraving i´ve done in 3 years time so il be brushing up the memory a bit on a piece later on =)
