Building a PC for a m8, decided on a mobile 24/25/2600 (stepping dependant at time of purchase), NF7 and SP97. Will 43cfm (from a panaflo L1A 92mm) be enough to give sub 50/55 load temps @ say 2.4-5ghz on 1.8v (which seems to be what most of the M's do IIRC) ? Or will a beefier fan be required? Noise IS an issue and 27dB is ideal... Cant find any other fans which offer more CFM and ~ this nosie level

you will be hard to push the cfm/db rating of a panaflow....papst perhaps but i doubt it...easiest way is to build it and see how it goes...always depends on the case/psu and other heat sources....

I'm not sure how much help this might be, but for a barely related comparison, I'm running a 2500+ (not mobile) @ 2.2GHz with a Thermalright SLK-900A and a 92mm Panaflow H1A (56.8 CFM @ 35 db). My idle temps are around 44C and my load temps don't go above ~52-53.

But like flix said, it's gonna depend on the case and other hardware. I have a lian li pc60 with no top blowhole, 2 crap 80mm led fans for intake and 2 for exhaust. I'm sure that if I had better fans and perhaps a blowhole I could get my temps lower. My case temp is about 33c idle and 37C load. But at this point it works so I'm not worried about it. :D

KK, well we'll have to suck it and see! Bro gets ~46 load, 2.2gz 1.6v w/SLK 947U and L1A with ~33case so it should be do-able. If not theres a 80mm torndao on standby ;)

I think as long as there is a reasonable airflow through the case everything would be fine.
Using a couple of 80mm intakes and a couple for exhaust all 7volted. (no noise, good airflow)
