If you want info on adsl have a look at the thinkbroadband forums.

I'm with UKFSN, it's £19.99 a month for 30Gb peak (Mon - Fri 8am to 10pm) and 300Gb Off-peak downloads. So far I've had far better CS than I had with Madasafish - plus my downloads seem a lot more stable.

Seconded! I'm also with UKFSN and I couldn't fault the service or the connection. I usually get over 400kBps and it has been known to go over 800 at times! Much better than my previous ISP (TT).

One month contract too, so you're not tied in for a year or more. Oh yes, do look on the thinkbroadband forums. It'll help you choose.

I'm with ADSL24 (Home 60 package) and absolutely love it. So much better than Eclipse!

i have been cold calling ADSL24 & TitanADSL today.
I like adsl24's site v clean and smart but also like titan's offer of £5 off the first month.
but then again i am new to these enta resellers so i am at your mercy to advise.

What services do you require? Do you need webspace? IMAP forwarding? The best thing you can do is to look at the websites of the various resellers and then decide what service looks the best for you. Look long term. £5 isn't a great deal if you suddenly find that they don't offer a good service 6 months doewn the line. I've been with UKFSN for 16 months and am just about to move house and reconnect with them. I could not fault the service I've recieved, even for non-UKFSN/Enta related questions I've asked.

I seriously considered UKFSN Max, the only snag for me was they don't carry any binary newsgroups (and I don't use them enough to pay extra for a feed). All reports on service seem to be good.

I really like ADSL24, we're in a poor reception area and should only get 512-1024kbps but we get 2048kbps on ADSLmax with ADSL24. We use the Home 30 package and its been good, the download speed is strong and reliable (There were issues of erratic speed and connection for the first two weeks but after that it settled down).

Just do what I did and buy a block account with a newsgroup provider like usenet-news.net or astraweb - buy what you need when you need it, any excess just remains until you need it again, it's far more useful than paying giganews etc. money each month.

Thanks, they look as though they'll suit me when I quit Pipex; any personal preference between the two? They both carry the groups I use, not much in price and retention.

Sorry, eldar, if I'm hijacking your thread. Welcome to Bit, btw. :thumb:

I find that usenet-news are a wee bit faster to download from - probably because very few people use them :)
