You have soo much room in that case, how and with what are you going to fill that space with?

Gotta love how fast a case can come together with CNC power :D, it's looking mighty fine mate :thumb:.

Dual loops and a few bodies.

    Thanks Waynio!

Oh it's coming, very, very slowly haha.

I know what you mean, litterally. I got a business management degree with 1 semester to graduate but I deferred to work full time and do stuff like this :)

Time for an update and damn, this thing is so close to finished, I can almost feel it!

I got my 3mm black on the table and cut out the top panel. Since the panel needed depth milling on the top side and bottom side of the panel, I decided the best way to do it would be to mill two pieces and stick them together to form the 6mm panel.

With the help of Weldon 16 and some clamps, the desired result was achieved!

I decided to start hairline polishing the outer parts of the case and man my arms are sore, I will eventually do a full wash out once all the polishing is done.

You might find that mostly people will start a project log by listing all the parts that will go inside and whilst I have done this in the past, I didn't put up the specs at first because:

    1. When I started to build this case, it was a prototype for my first case to go onto my online store. As such, there was nothing going into the case.

    2. Half way through building it this case was bought and so now we can present you the specs.

At current I know there are some SSD's, Rampage III Extreme, dual 5970's, AX1200 PSU etc etc and I only know this because well, I got all the watercooling parts already from EKWB!

    Woot!

Oh and its dual loop, sexy right?

Dual 5970's, rampage full block, DAYUUM!

    More soon!

14Kg isn't too bad, considering it is made entirely from plexi. I can see it topping 25kg with hardware and fluid.

Well after a wash down we are ready for some pics.

Still needs another polish before the hardware goes in though.

Cheers! More to come as always :)

It's turned out better than I had hoped. Making such a large case desirable was certainly a challenge!

And now make a reasonable sized version of it, something for mATX or miniITX :hehe:

    Beautiful. Sheer genius design.
    This should be comercially available.
In all honesty, I preffer it to Silverstone's TJ07/TJ11 cases.
    Get your design copyrighted :D

It is very available atm :p, as for copyrighting the design theres no point really. If someone really wanted to copy the design just from looking at the photos, goodluck to them.

Man I can't use the imperial system for nuts.

Okay, so here is what I understand in metrics:
    SHCS 304 M4X40 Hex Screw (19808) (100.00 / pack)

M4 thread, 40mm long. Cap screw, all sweet.

    Imperial system:
    SHCS 304 6-32UNCX5/16 Hex Screw (19819) (100.00 / pack)

6-32 thread, 7.9375mm's in length? around 3.5mm in diameter?

    *facepalm*
All I need is a cap screw thats between 7-8mm's long, black and screws into HDD's and SSD's.

I'll be getting 100 of them (minimum quantity) and so I would really, really like to get this right. If you can help me out I am ordering from here http://www.fastenersales.com.au/screws-socket-grade-p-2406.html

    Cheers guys.

Try phoning a SSD manufacturer? Maybe tech support can help you out.. And you could buy some size variations at your local hardware shop to try it out.
Also, I dont know how it works in USA but here in Holland you can usually get some samples before you order a large amount (if you are a registered company, that is), so maybe you could try and get some different sizes..

I'm liking the build, nice to see that you are trying to get everything out of your CNC. I'm liking the design too, so I'll be waiting for updates.

    Good luck with those imperial-screws!

If you need less than 100, some UK ebayers sell smaller quantities, but unfortunately they're not black.

See if any of the sellers will ship to Oz...

Might work out cheaper than the 100odd dollars that site quotes!

You have it right, that is what you want:

    SHCS 304 6-32UNCX5/16 Hex Screw (19819) (100.00 / pack)

Also, here is a link to a unit conversion site:

Yes, 6-32 is the correct screw size for HDs (just checked here at home). If you want something that is 7-8 mm long, it depends on how they measure the screw length. Typically hex cap screw lengths are measured from the bottom of the cap, not the top. See here for more info on that:

    http://www.mcmaster.com/#socket-head-cap-screws/=celplh

From that site, 'Length is measured from under the head for all cap screws, except flat head screws which are measured from the top of the head."

7 to 8 mm comes out to between 0.275" and 0.315" (just divide by 25.4). 5/16" is right under your maximum length, so go with that.

    TL;DR - GCOFIELDD is correct.

Edit: Also for your reference, (http://www.engineersedge.com/screw_threads_chart.htm) is a good resource for the thread sizes. It will give you the major and minor diameters.
Here (http://www.engineershandbook.com/Tables/tapdrill.htm or http://www.physics.harvard.edu/services/machineshop/shoplinks/THREADCHART.pdf and http://www.physics.harvard.edu/services/machineshop/shoplinks/MetricScrewThreadChart.pdf) for tap drill sizes.

Edit 2: Also, if you want to get really fancy to find the size of the tapping drill, just do this:

    English
Drill Size = Nominal Tap Diameter - 0.9742 / Pitch

    (i.e. for a 6-32 tap - Drill Size = .2040"- 0.9742 / 32= .1736")

    Metric
Drill Size = Nominal Tap Diameter - Pitch

    (i.e. for a M8x1 tap - Drill Size = 8mm - 1mm = 7mm)

I've used Modelfixings when sourcing small quantities of odd sized screws for my r/c trucks- no complaints :)
