Hey people, Im not nitpicking but I think is quite a major bug, any way see what you guys can do, I can help you in any way possible.

Im running windows xp, I have the start menu up the left hand side of the screen, and napster running at the bottom (as in screeny below) yet the advers go over the post, Is this just becasue I have an obscure start menu? or would this be the same for lower resolutions. (mines 1024x768)

What you reckon, any thing that can be done?

I put my start bar in the same position as you, and reduced the res to 1024x768.

Admittidly I don't have the napster bar like you, but I didn't get this problem, Everything resized perfectly.

    Hey man,

It's not a bug - it's a feature. Actually, the codebase as it is is the best compromise we can come up with. There is code that resizes any image posted wider than about 700-something pixels to prevent what you're seeing there. For forum posts, 640x480 images should be fine, with the added bonus of using less bandwidth so we can all avoid worklogs that have "bandwidth exceeded" signs!

The template is designed to work fine at 1024x768 - our minimum resolution - but clearly your Start Bar is reducing your width. Everything works just fine at 1280x1024, which would also give you room to have a side taskbar.

If your monitor limits you to 1024x768, your choices are:

    1) Put the Start Bar back to the bottom
    2) Upgrade to a better monitor
    3) Put up with a bit of overlap.

I'd love to help you more mate, but your setup is really rather unique.

    Oh the irony:

Of course when I'm running my window fullscreen it's no problem, but that's not all the time. In fact hardly ever now, as it's a momumental waste of a 24" screen. It figures I go to the trouble of whitelisting the ads only to have them overlap the oversized pics.

Is that resizer script no longer running or is there some margin of error from where it resizes pics?

edit - hmm, where the heck is my Firefox icon in the window corner?!

i only get this when ive got a tool bar/my favorites list/my history open on the left and it seems to bugger up the resize script as its seeing the naitive res on 1024 x 768 but the window width is smaller due to the tool bar window box thingy. to only way i can view bit-tech in all its glory is to close any tool bar on the left

    did that make sence??

It works fine for me... The pics load big, and then resize so it all fits nicely... But when I re-big 'em ;) It overlaps...

So It looks the automatical resizer works...

Just for the record, the same thing is happening for me in a browser window resized to 1280x1024 (according to FF Web Dev toolbar anyways) with no sidebar as it did in the pic above.

Run the theme that puts the add's on the left hand side. Doesnt seem to give that problem :)

I'm pretty sure that the unique situation in the screenshots was caused by my old custom title being quite long and breaking the tables slightly in Firefox (not Opera or IE, where the text wrapped at the hyphens), moving the resized picture underneath the ads :)
