Yea but they are marketing it more to the general public now :)

My only concern with using them everytime is blowing my eardrums out so I keep the volume lower than usual

Yeah but I get the feeling the price is a bit extortionate for something that's effectively just making a pastic mould but I guess the NHS will be able to do this kind of stuff much more cheaply.

EDIT: I'm also suprised that no-one's done this before.

Nope. They do offer a gel service though - £20 iirc and they hold them for 4 years. You should get them remade very 4 years or so anyway as your ears change.

No.. .Just no. Get someone who knows what they are doing to do it.

Pretty cheap in comparison to many sets. Shure SE530's for example are nearly £300 with the custom moulded earpieces.

How about £650 for a set of IEM's? Linky

    Well worth it though.

It's not plastic - it's flexible silicone. Plastic really isn't a good idea.
ACS have been doing them for a few years now. I've had a few different sets of things off them and they have always been excellent.

you're clearly new to this scene, gotta spend to get the quality with headphones. Audiophreaks will spend hundreds on a power cable.

just stating the facts.. by calling someone an idiot.
    Jesus way to introduce yourself.

So those people who can hear the difference are idiots? I could hear the difference between powercables through a neighbours system, he's only using a basic Naim system. Is he an idiot?

Re-think how you want to deal with someones opinion.

I'm liking the idea of doing this myself.... :D

I've lost the spare tips for my Shure E2Cs and the current foam tips are rancid with ear-wax and gunk... :(

Surely it couldn't be that hard to do?
    Anyone tried it?

Kids, calm down. HTR has his very special way of dealing with audiophiles that just throw out the money instead of actually thinking about what they buy.

I'm not saying there's no difference between a $1k cable and a $50 cable but for 99% of the people this difference just isn't big enough to justify the price difference.
