    *Joins you*

I'll have to go and get the money I gave to my girlfriends uncle back now (He was going to get me three from the US).

You'll probably still want to get it from the US, considering the price that they're going to charge over here for it.

Maybe, unless the EU iPhone is 16gb and 3G.

I still don't get why everyone drools over the iPhone... Sure it looks pretty and has a snazzy UI, but it's not enough to counter the bad points IMHO

Massively overpriced* and locked-down to silly levels**... what good is a PDA you can't install 3rd-party apps on?

*you can get equivalent-specced PDA-phones for free or nearly free on contract. Making the iPhone, even with the recent price cut, orders of magnitude more expensive
**Microsoft gave up on PDA/smartphone app-lockdown almost a decade ago now as it was a stupid idea... i thought apple was supposed to be innovative?

    Ever heard of updates?

Many people are sure that the iPhone will receive many updates during its course of existance, and I'm pretty sure by the end of next year it will become a full PDA type thing.

True, but it's kind of silly buying such an expensive item now on the basis that it *may* get updated to remove some of the bad points in the future if you ask me.

At least with other PDA's/smartphones if you don't like the way it does something, you can install a program/tweak to set it right.

The big question is how much are the contract plans going to cost? You can't even get unlimited data with O2 on normal plans you have to go a with a business account and a blackberry.

The only reason i would want the iPhone is for the Internet and the fact that safari browser doesn't change the way you view the web page's it just scales down which can be scale up and down with your fingers kick ass. This is what i think would be more suitable for me HERE I've already ordered the damn iPod Touch anyway so no iPhone for me. :D :D :D

Apple have also said that they don't mind the hacks but they also won't go out of there way to not break them when they update the firmware.
