News Europeans 'Dont Mind' PS3 delays, says Sony

3rded, 4thed, 5thed....

Well, I'm not European but I wouldn't mind if they never release it. I like my games on the PC better. Once apon a time I almost bought a PS2 for GT3 alone but I spent the money on a PC upgrade instead.

Maybe, if the PS3 flops totally (though I doubt it will), we could see articles proclaiming "Console Gaming is Dead" - like they do about PC gaming every time a new console comes out. ... Maybe with DX10 & the next batch of video cards both 360 & PS3 will be obsolete??? - that would

 

1st: they're basing their ideas about the PS2 "still selling in spite of the delay" on figures from 5 years ago. How many 'regular people' (not bit-techers) even knew about the delay 5 years ago? How many more will know about it now, what with the higher user base of the internet, and Sony's loud proclamations?

2nd: maybe EUROPE IS BETTER OFF waiting a few months -- the US and Japan will be getting the buggy, over-heating, prototype units...and in a few months when these issues are worked out, Sony will start selling 'good' PS3's and Europe will just start receiving them.

 

Hmmmm! Thats the thing they have some awesome titles coming out and no matter how much will power I do or dont have, I no doubt will end up with one.

 

Delay doesnt bother me, why are people in such a hurry. I welcome the delay to march as im not in a position to buy one right now so it doesnt really matter. Its not the end of the world guys, its only a console.

There are more inportant things in life than just games. March ill get one as its only 2 more pay days until christmas and once thats out the way ill be able to buy the PS3 next year

 

Actually, that's probably why the EU gets the delay. They know they'll buy it no matter what and they never prove them wrong. If the US or Japan had a 6 month delay into middle of the next year, they'd most likely lose a lot of sales to their competition during X-mas. The EU will still buy more then the other countries anyway.

Just because European's don't go marching the streets over a console delay, or boycott it en masse doesn't mean we "don't mind."

It simply means that we're used to it. Everything is always released later over here - including some occasions when the developers were a European group!

Anyway... where was the story that gave the figures of number of consoles that Sony were going to release to Japan and the US for launch? Wasn't it 100,000 for Japan and 400,000 for the US? Why do I have this nasty sinking feeling that the launch of the XBox360 and the shortages and problems caused by that will be a mere dress-rehersal for the PS3 launch? Why do I have the feeling that after the PS3 launch there will be stories on the BBC along the lines of "Child Murdered for Playstation3 Games Console..."?

I agree with BlackMage23 - probably the only reason I'll buy a PS3 is for Final Fantasy XIII...

 

i'm still worried by their lack of some kind of online "thing". i know a lot of people dont like paying to play online, but at least with xbox live you get a good quality network and a lot of downloadable content, not the ramshackle crap that was barely put together for the ps2., i wonder if gt4:hd will be online, i cant see it happeneing in europe

 

The only game on the PS3 that looked interesting to me was Assassins Creed but thats no longer an excludive so I have no reason to buy the damned console any more

 

But it's true though... there are absolutely loads of people who would still buy one purely based on hype and brand loyalty alone.

Sony didn't get to where they are now by being consumer friendly, they did it by being shrewd businessmen.

I want to make a bunch of wooden PS3s and sell them at the Sony fanboy convention for full list price. Then I'd sit back and watch the fanboys go on at length about "I got my new PS3 today and it is SO FREAKIN AWESUM, MAN!"

I was just in an ebGames store... everyone working there was laughing about the prospects of the PS3 (or completely forgetting it is coming) and telling me that I should preorder a game or two with my Wii to let them know I'm serious about it, since that's what everyone wants.
