Hi guys and gals, firstly I'm glad to join you on these forums, and second to business. I unfortunately need to sell my beautiful custom built gaming PC, so I'm looking for an evaluation of it's worth, thanks. The specs are: Core i7 920 Micron 3GB DDR3 PC3-1066 Gigabyte GA-EX58-DS4 PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-216D Thermaltake Toughpower 750W (non modular) NVIDIA GeForce 9800GX2 Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 Antec Three Hundred Gaming Case Thanks peeps.
Where are you, UK? US? Other? If you're in the US, you might get $800 if you upgrade the RAM to 6GB, but that's a long shot IMO.
I'm in the UK. I should hope I'd get a bit more than roughly £485! Especially if I sell the components off separately.
Not really I'm afraid. I just totted up the maximum I think you'd get selling component individually and it came to around £500, and that wasn't including packaging/shipping. The price you get will also depend on the condition of each item, whether they have been overclocked/lapped, whether they come with original packaging and a receipt/warranty etc. I think your best best might be to sell it locally, that way you don't have to worry about delivery costs and you'd probably get a little more for it that way if you do sell it, but you won't get as much interest.
Try advertising on gumtree (unlikely, but there's always a chance), or in local newspapers or nearby postoffice(s).
Check this out - Core i7 920, 3GB RAM, and a cheap graphics card @£600. Yeah it's new, but surely you can match this. Try sticking it on ebay, postage may cost a lot, however.
£600 is about what I'm hoping to get for it. The only problem is, eBay is flooded with custom builds so it might not end up selling...still, it only costs the price of a listing to find out...
£450 would probably get you a quick sale...but that's £150 down on what you're hoping for Trade-It maybe worth a shot?
I went to the shops today to see what I could get for it...not a lot, HOWEVER, the guy stood next to me overheard me and is VERY interested, has my number and is willing to pay what I asked...at this point the manager perked up his interest and gave me his PERSONAL e-mail address stating that he would offer me "as much as I can give you"...we could have a bidding war on!
