CCP have released this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08hmqyejCYU&hd=1 I thought I'd post it here to tempt any new players, or provoke discussion .
nicely done, however chances are the "hero" would have been shot to pieces upon entering alliance territory.
A random in an alliance fleet? God it's hard enough with the spies who are in your alliance already without inviting anyone else along
That guys sounds like one of the douches from Lynda.com... or do all north american computer geeks sound the same maybe? Is that a racist comment?
I think the point of the video was to illustrate just how incredibly large the universe CCP created is, and it truly is a remarkable work of programming and game mechanics to create a self-sustained nearly 100% player controlled single world game sandbox.
It's not a single world though is it, it's lots of little worlds (systems) all connected together. We don't play with the Chinese players either, so there's 2 big 'worlds' playing eve Sure economically everyone can trade and stuff, but we can't all get together and have a massive fight?
I meant in terms of servers/universe/instances. For example, WoW has like 200 different separate servers, not everybody can play in the same instance of the game.
Second. Tried EVE for a few months and didn't really get on with it, although Infinity looks like it might be work a bash eventually.
I do miss Eve. I played for almost 4 years starting in 2003 and have a capital ships pilot hanging around. I've been tempted to go back several times, but missions are repetitive and boring after a while and that's all I ever did with it. And I'd feel quite left behind by the tech3 ships
PvP is where it's at, jump into lowsec, find someone to kill and ruin their day YARRRRR! Not particularly tempted by faction warfare though roaming in a fleet is fun simply because there's more stuff that you can kill. Moriquendi
