It feels like there should be more to that post Jake, is there a video of the id staff playing it?

Hmm sounds a bit like the old "this one goes up to 11"

Why not make Nightmare mode harder?
    Because Ultra-nightmare is one harder
    turning it up to 11

Nightmare mode was unbeatable in the original doom as well.
In some levels anyway, there wasn't enough ammo to finish without an ammo cheat. Even with every shot counting and all hidden stuff found there wasn't enough ammo.

(but to find that out you needed a god-mode cheat to make every single shot count)

    :D

Yes, I had too much time back then

It wasn't unbeatable, in the places where there wasn't enough ammo you had to goad the monsters into attacking each other or run past them where that was possible.

Actually looking quite forward to this. I haven't played a straight up violent action shooter for a while.

I was put off by the initial reviews - seeing it, actually looks ok. Will buy at the right price - a bit like I did with DNF...

It's now a console game and with no VR support.

Anything with zenimax badge is ****.

As I said at the start of the VR thing, Game devs will need to develop the game for VR specifically in alot of cases.

If you made it a VR game you just limited yourself to a tiny niche market who may or may not want a FPS game.

PSVR will be the watershed moment for Devs and anyone looking at the market. If the numbers are not there you struggle to see how it will ever gain the dev support long term it will need to get certain types of big budget games made for it.

One of the only single player games I've actually enjoyed in the last decade. An absolute gem of you ask me, and the reviews seem to agree.
