    i accidently steped on one of mine... :(
    before i had put them in they where sitting on my desk and knocked it off and when i got up i heard... crunch... and i was like :eeek: awww crap.... looked down it was in half... :( so i had to reorder some...

    i broke one of the expensive almost $40 pcmods one..... now i get them for relatively cheap so when i break one, i just buy a new bulb as norally the inverters survive

    I had one on the underside of the top of my case. I had my case liying on its side withe side pannel off, grabed the top in the open side to stad it up and SNAP :(

    Luckily it was only a fiver from Mappers :)

    How about changing the ground wire to +12 and +12 to ground?
    Mine doesn't work anymore...
    Wich one could be broken?

    BTW... 12v to ground will blow the inverter but should not blow the tube.

    Fried Cathode!!!

    On my first mod there was some crazy side affects and boy sometimes I forget my own strength. SQUEEZE the dam thing a little too hard when the pc was on. Got some crazy out come, Let's see computer powered off, cathode began to spark. Lights in the house flickered. Hah!!! That was cool!!!

    Yeah.. I've broken one.
    Bought a UV one at a computer fair.. eagerly got home.. installed it.. fired it up.. it looked lurvley.
    I then noticed a PCI card was loose (didnt bother screwing it in) so pushed on it.. unfortunatly I had mounted the CC right near the slots, leant a little too much in one direction... SNAP.. I was most annoyed. :(

    Just broke mine today

    Just broke mine. I ordered a UV cathode from Cool Case Mods on Friday, it arrived Monday....but was snapped in half!!Good 'ol royal mail. A quick call to CCM & a replacment bulb was on it's way, recieved today, installed...everything was dandy....sat watching the world cup this morning with my PC running in the background....I hear a "zzz" and my PC switches of. So I unplug the powercord take the side of & hey presto!! the Inverter (which dosent have any protective seal! ) had come unstuck from the velcro patch that was supplied, landed on my UV cathode......and broke it clean in 2!! Then it must have shorted out my pc. Arse!:cries:

    Do you think mappers do them still?

    I went on their site, searched for the number thing (the one fom the forums) and it said they were discontinued.

    Hmm, i'm going to a store tomorrow, i'll let yall know how i get on :D:D
