Hey all, Im after a HTPC case and ive found the one i want on a website from a company called Excel IT Services. http://www.excelitservices.co.uk/shop/micro-fusion-remote-350-p-5665.html Has anyone here ever used this company? Or know of them? It is a bit worrying that the company address is here
Looks like someone is using there home as company HQ. Some 15 year old who is a little tech savvy trying to make some money?
Its about 40mins from me. Might be worth calling them up and seeing if i can go pick it up, cash in hand..
Given the fact they cant even spell Nvidia correctly (even if it is a typo, a professional site wont make these mistakes), this is probably true Having said that, general reviews are that he can be trusted. Good refund service, etc. Of course, these reviews can be forged
Sounds like a plan but if the only address is the one linked, I doubt they would have it there. My bet is that they get it delivered to you from wherever they get it from wholesale. Definately call and suss them out before dealing with them.
The domain is registered to an individual rather than a company and is registered to a home address. Domain name: excelitservices.co.uk Registrant: Jonathan Bastin Registrant type: UK Individual Registrant's address: 22 Fairway Copthorne Crawley West Sussex RH10 3PU United Kingdom *EDIT He has also just copied all terms and conditions and privacy policy from www.microdirect.co.uk The fool forgot to change the Micro Direct name out of parts of the privacy policy. I dont think I would ever consider handing over money to this guy.
He is one of the directors. There are documents available through Companies House but you have to pay for them. They were incorporated in 2009 and filed their last accounts in April this year.
Oh lawd this is going to be fun, now to link this thread to the Bit tech editors and watch the hilraity begin .
They describe themselves as a hardware consultancy. They could very well be legit. It sounds to me like a small consultancy that, as a sideline, offers to source hardware for their clients and has stuff on their website "shop". I'd bet money that they get their hardware directly from Micro Direct which is a big B2B supplier. Hence the copying of the T&C's. I'd also wager money that Excel's website prices have not been updated in a while which explains why they are showing such a cheap price for that item. An easy way to solve this is to call them in the morning and ask a) if they have it, b) at what price and c) can you pop around and collect it. You'll know soon enough. Edit: someone else has it: http://www.awd-it.co.uk/scripts/prodview.asp?idproduct=4602
