I've done that quite a few times. I usually just grab hold of the dead arm and throw it out of the bed while lifting my other arm just to get the blood rushing through . Gives you some idea how heavy your arm is anyway!
I've done that too. but i have a nightstand right next to my bed, i cracked my skull on it. made my personality what it is today...
carpel tunnel? hmm. I dunno about that. I mean whats the diff, if your awake or sleep? I always thought it was due to no blood flowing into your arm or leg. lots of people lose feeling in their legs too, can you get carpel in your legs? hmmm thats interesting. If im wrong, please tell me, I just dont see how the two can be related, I always thought it was due to no blood flow or so forth. Learn summin new everyday
frequently, it scares the hell out of me not been waking up with dead arms recently for some reason though its well funny flopping about in the morning with 2 dead arms
I think i have all of you beat, My bed is a bunk bed minus the bottom bed with a couch under it, and christmas morning i was getting out of bed and to my suprise both my legs were lifeless. i have to jump out of bed becasue i have no ladder as it takes up too much space, lets just say i sprent my morning in the emergency room.
Well its good to hear the nation are all having dead arms too, is there some kind of club for this?! Its not a regular thing so im not too worried. Was speaking to my m8 about it on the bus and I mentioned I started a thread up online and he pointed out the times, when you sit on the toilet to long, and it happens in your legs! Well I know this is from the blood being cut off there too, kinda interesting wonder if you can manage to do it to your arms and legs for fun? Anyone who can do it and post pics, much appreciated
Luckily around that time I was sleeping on a Futon. Took me a good couple of weeks to get used to a real bed afterwards. With the Futon I'd often wake up halfway out of my door where I'd just kept rolling over and gone across the floor. You can't really do that from a bed can you I too have a night-stand next to my head, I've had to put foam on the corner as I've brained myself many a time on the sharp edge. Sorry Drastik, but that's provided me with my afternoon's entertainment!
i have owken up with two totally dead legs before, its funny as i alwasy spin round with my arms to launch myself out of bed and land on my feet that day spin round, launch, land fall into a crumpled heap ont he floor
The only time i've woken up with a good and proper dead arm was when i had pneumonia. See one time, i got really steaming hot playing basket ball, i really needed to cool off. So i walked home in a tshirt. In the middle of the winter. i'm talking -10ish Celcius. I think it was a combination of that, and one of my family members had it. So anyways, the pneumonia makes your lungs all filled up with mucus. It's nasty. It hurts to breathe. So i guess my circulation wasn't working very well that week because of that. I woke up with a dead arm almost every morning that week. It's a creepy feeling. One morning i woke up and i swung it up, and it landed on my face. I was like; ARGH whose dead limb is that on my face? So i grabbed my other hand and tossed it off my face, and then i realised it was mine.
A little over a year ago I woke up with cramp in my foot, jumped out of bed in pain, couldn't stand up, fell forward and only then realised one of my arms was dead. I managed to fall on my right eye and graze the skin around it on the stupidly rough carpets in my old flat. An old gf of mine once told me she sometimes got "dead" breasts, from sleeping on them. I don't know if there's any truth in that, but it sounds like fun.
I don't know why, but I laughed at nearly every reply in this thread. Probably because it happens to me all the time, since being married and sleeping with my arm under my wife's pillow, I wake up quite often with that arm totaly dead. And about 20% of the time I wake up with my hands (From the wrist down) asleep. I have to shake them awake, and once they wake up they feel burning hot, and I have to run them under cold water for a bit. This is probably because I am getting carple tunnel.
It happens to me all the time, I tend to sleep on my front with my arm under the pillow. But my ex really made me laugh, one Saturday morning after a few drinkies on Friday night, I have woken up, got the paper made coffee. I've just got back into bed and settled down with the paper as she wakes up. She gave a little yelp and tried to throw her (obviously dead) hand out of the bed She soon woke it up though trying to hit me for laughing so much I spilt the coffee in bed.
I remember the first time i can remember this happeneing to me, i didn't know my arm was dead and i actually thought someone had chopped it off in the night cos i was freaking out after it wouldn't move.. it was only when i reached over and touched it (that is the weirdest sensation) that i guessed it was dead. Now it happens every few months cos i always sleep on my front.
one time many years ago when i was 14 (one reason for the arturitus that i have in my right knee) i used to have a bunk bed in my room just me so i cant recall why i wanted it i always sleeped on top because my perents couldn't reach me to wake me up in the mornings (i liked sleeping late(i havent been able to sleep past 8:00am in the morning for some reason i always wake up i can go to sleep a 7:45am and il still wake up at 8) anyway i remember waking up more than one time not being able to feel my legs i thought nothing of it the first time i jumped off like always having no feeling in my legs i could not control my legs (lets just say i fell like a sac of potatoes) i still limp to this day
its the pins and needles that i cant stand and most mornings i wake up with dead arms/face/legs i swear i was a contortionist in a former life
having two dead legs is a tad funny whilst trying to go down a flight of stairs, almost ended up like this against the door at the bottom of them. also had my pinkie go to sleep for a week once, very strange
