    Hello all.

I figured that GD needs a new thread. A thread about people that made your day better in some way. I'm not talking about "getting home to family". I'm thinking of the people out in the general public that go against the flow of rude, inconsiderable people and actually make an effort to make random people a bit happier.

For instance, on my way home from a really long, crappy day at work I was planning on stopping by a shop to get some paint. To get to that shop I have to do a left turn over a busy two-lane road. (We drive on the right side here, remember). This was at rush hour and the oncoming traffic seemed never ending. After I had waited for quite a long time one of the drivers in one of the oncoming lanes slowed down enough to make a gap, and flashed hes lights to help me over.

So, have you got any stories about random people making your day? Share! :)

God no. Everyone I came contact with today was a complete and utter cockshit.

Well, except my 7 month old baby sister, who's awesome no matter how bad of a day i've had.

Probably my old Engineering Tech Teacher Mr. Crowe. Great man.

Also I am sensing an impending doom for this thread since the first 8 replies only had 2 real nominations

A bloke at the local bodyshop the other day - straightened the door pillar on my car and sucked out a couple of parking dents for free. Wouldn't even take any money, nevermind asking for some.

This didnt happen today but has happened to me quite a few times.

But I have taken up quite a few different hobbies over the years like playing magic the gathering, Bloodbowl, World Of Warcraft TCG and stuff like that but its the people who are more than happy to help you learn the game or when i started playing magic someone gave me loads of old cards for free to try and help me get into the game more and been hooked since then.

People like these make my day and make new hobbies that little bit more enjoyable

There are lots of people in the general public who I see on a regular basis and make my day better quite often. It's the simple things like a friendly smile or a small gesture of kindness that counts, and as I am always dealing with the public in both of my jobs, I try and do the same for all of my customers :)

Had a tyre leaking air since forever. Filled it up every morning at the closeby tire store. I was filling it up and literally blew the side wall out. Hella bang. Deaf for couple minutes.
Dude from the tyre store comes out with a jack, an air wrench, and puts on my spare. No charge. Spare got me to the tyre store where they came from. Road hazard - replace that one free and discount the matching tyre to the price paid a couple years ago.

Two people helping me and saving me money in one day. Win.

    PS:

I hit a meteor crater on a local busy street. Couln't change lanes and damaged the rim too.

Colorado is pothole hell this time of year!

There's a clerk at my doctor's office (Sherri) who always greets me by name and has a smile. She's a joy to chat with and always makes me feel better having to see the doctor to begin with.

People like her make a real difference!

Ran a ½marathon this friday with a mate for some friendly competition.
When I crossed the finish line (2h01m26s) I was too tired to talk. A official noticed and came over and took the timing chip off my shoe while I just stood there gasping.
    That was really great!

Later that day McD ran out of BigTasty burgers - not so great.

yeah everyone has those kinds of days.. I'd have to say, least for yesterday- my girlfriends, sisters, mother-in-law.. she just seems like one of the happiest people since her gran kid was born

I went through the microsoft employee blogs one time and I noticed everyone there seems over the top happy.. for no reason.. remember someone saying ignorance is bliss!! :D
